This song really shocks me with how it has some flavor of Sonic CD, but it's soooooo thematically different than other Sonic music. Very moody. I would never have expected the Gregorian styled chant to be in a Sonic soundtrack.

Words cannot desribe the feelings i get from this song. When i listen to this, i go back to my early internet days when i used to watch KZbin tutorials with people using music similar to this. Music that made you feel like you were in a futuristic new age, on the edge of reality watching time flow on by. Floating in a void that feels so empty yet so full of wonder. Im instantly taken back to those time where i used to play older PC games and got to live the experience of playing games like various valve games, mods, doom and other games of the like which changed peoples lives. It took me a little longer to get onto some of those things, but i emphasize with the previous generation greatly. This is not a Sonic song. Maybe Act 1 is, but this one? This carries spiritual significance to me. Of course i never played this version of the game but i have heard it in Sonic fangames like Sonic Battle R and Super Cream 64, but even then i can still feel the soul that surrounds this particular song. Another way to describe this is like im being flown back into the past to the 90s, a decade I've always had so many questions and thoughts about that it seems like a distant memory. Even if i wasnt even alive at all during it. Songs like this sound like music made around that time. Yknow, in one way, it kinda has a similar tone to Trance 009 Sound System Dreamscape. And even stranger is that it also sound simialr to Through the Trees from Shantae Risky's Revenge. Both songs are definitely having a different vibe, as Trance definitely has a more upbeat tone, and Through the Trees has a very wondery tone, but the point still stands. Maybe theres a reason for all this?

I grew up with the PC version of this game. It didn’t have the fancy special stages the Saturn had, but the music was still pretty incredible. I remember being really young when I first played this, getting to this stage, I was completely awestruck by the music being played on this act. It definitely influenced me in the type of music I wound up liking as I grew up. This game made such an amazing memory for me that I still keep the original PC disc among my game collection.

I like how the Saturn OST for 3D Blast isn’t super high energy. Considering the game is more about exploring and hunting for the Flickies to save them, the more mellow tone of it here suits the game more in my opinion. The Genesis OST isn’t bad by any means, it gave us some great tracks that got even better in Adventure, but I think this one is just a bit more fitting.
