​@@uglybad4 not really, I managed to finish it but it didn't even come close to pirates curse in terms of gameplay, writing or level design. went on to play some of the original as well as seven sirens and they were just decent. starting with the peak of a series sucks.

@@ShockHat734 This is probably the best game in the series, but honestly, both the original and Seven Sirens are VERY close. I urge you to keep playing them both, as they're very nearly as good as this game -- or at least, they were for me! They may be slower to start, but once you get into them, trust me, you'll have a blast. (Risky's Revenge, you can save for last if you REALLY want to play more Shantae. It's still a good game, but is easily the weakest entry in the series IMHO.)

So far I’ve only played 2,3, and 5, and it’s my favorite so far. I enjoy how the levels are split up, making it so much easier to 100% in my head. Though the physical powers (the ones purchasable from the vendor) seemed like an afterthought, which is unfortunate. Oh, and Mud Bog Island just sucked. The Lost Village was neat but everything else there was miserable, including the boss.

Same for PC version. I think that "Sunburn Island" is some kind of technical name or pre-release name of the island. They probably have forgotten to change it to "Tan Line Island" in the track's title.

Shame this is really the only Good game In the series. It has a lot of potential. Half genie was alright too i guess...kinda says a lot when the best entry had help from a different dev team and required stripping g shantwe of her defining trait

I mean I would have to disagree. While this game is the best in the series I wouldn't call the others bad. I haven't played the first so I won't say anything about that but Riskys Revenge isn't bad. It does have flaws and I think is a bit too slow but I wouldn't call it bad, its more mediocre than anything. Half-Genie Hero I also don't think is bad but I do think it was too linear in most of its levels but again I wouldn't say it was a bad game because it is still fun to play in my opinion. Shantae and the Seven Sirens I think is a great game and fixes Half Genie Heroes problems. The areas in the game are fun to explore, the transformations are cool and fun to use and are definitely the best transformations in the series (I do agree that the items in Pirates Curse were better though). The characters and story were pretty good even though I do think the ending was kinda underwhelming. (sorry this response is so long I just like talking)

​@@Normando76 maybe it depends of expectation. i played them in order of : half genie, pirates curse, seven sirens, riskys revenge. half genie's linearity isn't bad but it kills replayability. and like with most shantae games, it gets easier as it goes on with all the upgrades so items are obselete. riskys revenge is the only one i couldn't be bothered to finish despite being super short. since the map is small and half the game is padded with fetch quests, its all mindless backtracking which is made more annoying that clues about where to go are cryptic forcing you to always talk to every npc. not to mention is straight up unfinished so theres that lol. given the circumstance i would say its not bad but its lost potential. i could go on a rant about its LOADS of problems of 7 sirens but this video sums up most of my issues. more power to you if you like it though. kzbin.info/www/bejne/i3zJeI1sjbKef5I&ab_channel=SomecallmeJohnny

@@oopadoop9291 if you enjoy 7 sirens more power to you but it has way to ma y problems to overlook, some severe enough to hinder enjoyment so for me, while it has good ideas that I hope are fleshed out in a sequel, it's awful. I could go on a rant about all the issues but if you go to "Johnny vs" channel, he covers most of it. I also didn't say the others were bad. I said this was the only good one. I'd say half genie is alright. Or if you want to be more optimistic than pirates is great, half gene is good, revenge is average and sirens just sucks
