@Punchtale Real fans would buy a DM album if it was just 90 minutes of Mediterranean fart noises. There’s hardly another band on the planet from that era that could still do a full run of stadiums 40 years into their career. So respect the boys or shutdafucup 👋🏽😑

A high school colleague got a few of us tickets to see them perform live during the Violator tour. I’m not a DM fan, but I have that album because it’s profoundly good. They look like children here, and they sound bad technically, but I can see that the elements are there - especially the courage and attitude, and the smarts to use sequencers to at least look like they can play cohesively. David’s voice is good. The other guys not so much but they’re enjoying themselves. That confidence took them a long way. 👍🏻

The audio quality and video were captured incredibly well, showcasing both their fledgling youth and inexperience as performers: shy, stilted, pitchy backing vocals, an attentive crowd but not quite sure what to make of this unusual new all-synth band performing every analog note along to a taped drum loop machine. The vast majority of early DM recording were captured from live television performances where 99% of the sound was pre-recorded and lip-synced so we could never get an accurate depiction of how they sounded as a raw, live band. I absolutely love this!

How much conviction must an artist have to stick with it, how do you not get discouraged when you look like a high schooler with an epileptic seizure and your sound is still so raw and dissonant at times? To go from that to fucking icons....amazing.

... it's because of youthfulness, testosterones, foolishness, and a little bit of luck and talent. ✌🏽 That's how 😊

Glad i was there in the 80's to see it unfold and be part of it. New life was the first single i bought. It was out if this world back then.

This is an incredible bit of music history. Very clear video and wow, they improved quickly after this. Nobody would have bet on them lasting a few months let alone decades.I need to edit. They got into their groove by New Life.

Pretty sure I still have the first two songs as singles on vinyl! Wow, can't believe this was 40 years ago. I was learning to code on my ZX Spectrum when they were doing this. And that audience is the most eighties thing I've seen for quite a while :)

This is a lot like a high quality video of seeing the Beatles from their "Cavern" days. Small venue, the heyday a few short years away, brilliant songs. What a gem of a video!

Chi lo avrebbe detto che quel ragazzino chiamato Dave sarebbe diventato il miglior frontman nei concerti live ...quanta strada hanno fatto questi meravigliosi ragazzi ❤

Fantastic. Dave so confident at such a young age in a foreign country with the crowd so close up. It's crazy how young Martin and Dave look having seen them close up just a month ago in London. DM forever 🖤

Thank you for uploading this. This Video ist real gold. I knew that they once played in Oberkorn, but that this was recorded in such a great quality, is a mega-surprise to me.
