⭐️Dephemerember 2024: Finalizing the Cover with Creative Details

Welcome back to Part 2 of creating this special junk journal for Dephemerember 2024! In Part 1, we cut up a pair of jeans, decided on the measurements and prepared a paper bag as a base and chose some fabrics to glue onto the paper bag. Today, we’re diving back in to finish it up by altering the inside cover, adding those fun jeans pieces on the outside, and putting on the final touches to get the journal ready.

I went to a place to paint some pottery with friends as a team building exercise. In the studio the words "If it is perfect, it is not art" hung on the wall. When I create, I always remember those words, and it gives me confidence. So, maybe it will inspire other viewers and yourself too.❤

I gotta say I was worried in the beginning because so much of that beautiful fabric underneath was being covered by the jeans, and I wasn't totally convinced what it would look like. I should have known better. You ALWAYS create magic and the fact that you said you didn't know what you were going to do other than just use the black jeans!😮 Fabulous!! P.s. I'm glad you heard me say, "Just redo the tag and sew the edges "😅❤😂 How could Luise not just fall in love with it. We WILL see tears 😊

Well, I have known about the Dephemerember since you & Louisa started it, however, with my working hours I've never been about to follow along with you when you were doing it. So, I finally got it into my head....(and time) to just start watching 2024 Dephemerember. Yesterday I watched Louisa's...and today I watched yours. I love both of them....and I love that the two of you do it! What beautiful art! I'm fairly new to Junk Journaling....and I still work. So I don't have a lot of time. Barbara, I think because we are looking straight down on your cover and you are at an angle, you didn’t see the phrase Shine Your Light at first. I was telling you it was there and not to cover it! LOL! How nice that turned out that it landed on the spine. It worked perfectly on the spine. Then I told you to cut the thread of the little metal saying and you heard me! LOL.
