After my mother passed away, I was looking for a way to save all of her handwritten recipes. I can’t remember who I saw do this envelope journal idea, but I thought it was perfect because I could tuck the recipes into the envelope pockets and use the other parts of the envelopes to write stories about each of the recipes. I did not think about adding signatures as well, but that would be amazing!

Thats how I started coffee dyeing years ago. Now, I can do hundreds of papers and envelopes in 2 hrs by soaking and hanging them out to dry on a clothesline on a hot summer day, about 25 to 30C. They dry very quickly and I'm good for the year!

I love the turquoise eye lash ribbon. The large bird's head was not cut off but made a beautiful journal card. I use my envelopes as pages but will make one of these ... someday. Thanks for the idea! And the coffee dying idea instead of dipping.❤ I've been watching some of your old videos. Example: Tags with collaging and stickers, so simple... I love it!

Barbara, for printing advice, it may also be helpful to know; when someone is setting up their print options to print a project, selecting the correct paper in printer options can make a big difference. On my printer, I select media and quality, then in this instance would select photo matte paper. I found that option today and realized I was not getting the quality I could without making that adjustment. Does that make sense? I'm finding it much harder to explain than to actually do 😂.

Hey, Barbara. LOVE the Chinoiserie Collection! This project would be great for mass making as gifts or for sale. No big deal to customize for different tastes and themes. Lovely project ❤️ I think the cards you painted with coffee were just picking up the stains from the previous print. The bird on the branch image in coffee stain is from a page you actually used to cover up one of the envelopes 😊

Ooh, I made an art journal from cardboard envelopes in a similar way! That kit is awesome, also the book covers😍. I keep forgetting to only glue the edges 🙈. Yep, definitely the paper more than anything. The day I bought matte photo paper was a game changer. Koala is a good double sided one. Lol that phantom coffee bird is very cute! Lol yes we do love 'destroying ' the paper🙊. I love the blue and orange 😍. I LOVE her 😍 I'm definitely making one! Tfs and have a great day 💖💖💖
