MsNaturale Michelle the struggles of having fine but thick hair.
@xtelfolaj7 жыл бұрын
***** you can have fine and thick hair. Thick hair refers to having high density. Fine hair is about the thickness of one strands. Fine and coarse hair are polar opposites. People with fine and thick hair have dense hair but have the illusion of appearing "thin" when they straighten it. People with low density (thin hair) and coarse strands (thick hair strands) are the one who give the appearance of it looking thick.
@ericastone39987 жыл бұрын
I like it before the flat iron too. it looks fuller and nice on her.
@LACHRONICLES7 жыл бұрын
hair language... Thin, Medium, course reference the how thick your hair strand are. Density Low, medium and High which some ppl will say thick reference to how much hair you have on your head. it's not that hard ppl. you can have high (thick ) hair with thin strands.. You can also have in between densities..

@tiannebarclay65947 жыл бұрын
It's amazing how she used a blow dryer brush that doesn't have a high setting and a flat iron at 230° but yet you have a lot of other naturals who use a regular blow dryer on high and crank the flat iron up in the 400s but yet they can't get their hair silk smooth like that. Not to mention this was her first attempt! That's why you really can't compare your hair to others cz everyone's hair really is different.
@brittanymilgan7 жыл бұрын
She said she had her flat iron on the highest heat setting so that 230 might be in Celsius, which transfer into 446 Fahrenheit.
@cassandra30k7 жыл бұрын
yes, you're right. in the UK they use celsius so her flat iron was really hot, but like Tianne says, everyone's hair is different. her hair is very healthy so whatever works...
@tiannebarclay65947 жыл бұрын
brittanymilgan Thanks for clearing that up about the temperature but even using a temperature so high it's mind blowing how she isn't even getting an ounce of heat damage and kinky hair is super fragile. Even though it's her first self flat iron she has gotten her hair straightened a couple times prior. Talk about healthy hair.
@veemack61977 жыл бұрын
It always gets that straight from heat that high. There is still damage done to the hair. Heat changes your hair. Squeezing your hair between two hot plates is not natural. Changes happen immediately to the hair shaft, even her fine strands. That is science. So we enter into all things by first counting up the costs. The cost of color and heat is damaged hair. She has to continue to treat her hair as damaged. Not just her but anyone. Hair is a fiber and when abused it gets damaged.

Can do a review on the ion steam straightener heard Good review they say cut the straightening time and it get really straight and silky
@osimeon007 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't call this a silk press. Just normal straightening. But it looks great! What I would say to cut down on time is to try blow drying with a regular dryer (I know you said about them) but with a comb attachment on your hair soaking wet. That makes a huge difference. Then for flat ironing, you could cut down time significantly by purchasing an iron with 2 inch plates. At this point in your journey, your hair is so long and thick, a 2 inch plated iron could get the job done with more hair in half the time.
@AqsoulX7 жыл бұрын
osimeon00 Great tips! Which flat iron or blow dryer would you suggest? I really wish I could do an actual "silk press" 😌 When you said soak and wet, should I spritz it with water when blow drying?
@osimeon007 жыл бұрын
+AqsoulX, as soon as you step outside shower from shampooing and conditioning, keep your hair wet. You can blot the excess water with a shirt. But you apply your product directly onto your hair. Personally I recommend professional high end flat irons and blow dryers for silk presses but you can get good results from ANY flat iron provided it's ceramic ion like babybliss. A good cost effective blow dryer is Conair silverbird. To get a good silk press is really in the product, technique, and heat. Paul Mitchell super skinny serum is a very good product to use for a silk press. You also want to set your iron to 450 if you have natural 4b/4c hair to get the silk press and 430-420 for 4a and above.
@Gigillove7 жыл бұрын
+osimeon00 great advice. I use GHDs which is great but they won't get my hair as straight as that, but they do protect my strands

Hi Dephne. A great hair video for you to do would be how you deal with you natural hair under a wig. I have been protective styling for the last two weeks under a wig for the first time ever (and plan to do this for about a year) so as you have been doing this for the last six months your guidance would be most helpful as to the routine you use and any suggestions you may have in terms of looking after your hair for healthy hair and growth under a wig. Thanks, RosieUK
