DISCLAIMER/REPLY - I'm just reading these comments and i cant believe there is yet another argument on another hair video i've done but this time its about a trim. C'mon give me a break lol! This is an edited video that is less that 10 minutes of a 5+ hour day. I already trim my hair every 2 months and Believe it or not The Stylist TRIMMED OFF ALL the split ends in my hair. We cut off a lot of hair that you may not perceive by just watching this video. Never the less, thank you for your suggestions, tips and support.I honestly appreciate you all xx

+Dephne Madyara Don't worry Dephne any video on youtube that is popular there WILL be arguments. Just trust in God and take people's opinions/suggestions with a grain of salt. Everyone believes they're right in their own eyes. Do what is best for you. Regardless it came out beautiful and many people want what you have, but it is not easy. We are all learning and feel like we have earned our naturalologist degree via youtube lol. It is just the facts of life. Congrats on 150K views...it was at 4k last time I commented lol.

You are a beautiful queen dont argue with fools. I understand that some ish that people say can get under you skin but nevermind them and their opinions. it takes a lot of time and energy to respond to negativity and at end of the day you are the one left feeling miserable or heated even just for that moment. Look you are beautiful, your hair is beautiful, keep doing your thang. If its not positive its not worth your time and energy.

I wish people would stop telling her what she needs to do with HER hair. It's hers. It grows from her body. Not yours. She doesn't care about how her ends look when her hair is straight. It only matters how they look when her hair is curly again. Why chop off three inches just to have the perfect straight hair when this is only a once in a 5 year thing? Her split ends were cut despite what you actually think. You can look at the video but it doesn't show you the true health of her hair without you actually being in front of her. Her tips are thin but it doesn't mean it needs to be cut because its perfectly fine in its curly state. She's clearly maintaining normal growth and her hair looks good despite what you think of her tips. 4C hair needs toooooo much, too much moisture. No matter how much you put on it and how often, it is in constant need that can never be quenched. I think she's maintaining her demanding hair just fine.

I love how everyone in the comments is now a professional on hair, but don't realize women went ages and ages with long healthy hair and not cutting the ends, for thousands of years. The whole "end cutting" has just come into play fairly recently. It's her hair and clearly she is doing something right if her hair is this long and shiny and thick. Worry about yourself
@sexychocolategoddess28216 жыл бұрын
I disagree. Its clear that the hair was not properly cut. She needed a cut not a trim. The ends dont look good at all

Ugh all the people saying she needed more cut off need a lesson in hair growth. Her hair was fine after the trim, the reason you can see through it is because all the hairs on your head don't grow at the same time or rate which is why the ends are thinner and have a V shape. Not everyone likes the blunt cut, I know I don't, which is how you get rid of the thin ends or by getting a layered cut but not everyone likes that either. I bet a lot of ladies aren't reaching their length goals because they are cutting off way more hair than necessary. I saw in her latest video she got more cut but it really wasn't needed.
@HistoryHighwithLisaMarrie8 жыл бұрын
***** I was natural long before it was a "trend." As long as her hair is I don't think she is obsessed with length. And what in the world is cut at elevation?

That's true all hair doesn't grow evenly because of the 3 stages of hair growth the Catagen, Telogen , and Anagen phases so they can be uneven but they should not be see through . See through ends is a sign of splits and breakage and her ends could be splits that have literally broken off and one half of the frayed ends remain.

In my honest, very humble, opinion I have to say that some naturals out there need to let loose and start enjoying their hair more often! Seriously. You baby it thinking that you wanna "protect it" and not cause any damaged, guess what? You can still use a reasonable amount of heat (regularly, yes, REGULARLY) and enjoy the magic of your hair - without it being "unhealthy"! Uuh naturals who go weeks without washing their heads, like what? Stop it! It's 2016 and you can have fun with your hair and still be safe!

This is what most people don't understand about our hair. It's not that we have shorter hair than other ethnicity's, it's just that we have extremely tight curly hairs which deceives you into thinking it's short. It should be common sense that anything that is in a curly state doesn't show you the true length of any item, be it hair or gift wrapping ribbons. But, i guess common sense isn't so common. Gorgeous hair.

@Simpson4Fun8 жыл бұрын
"Brittle and very thin" sounds so insulting. Her hair looked stunningly gorgeous! It's not just long but it's very healthy and she's done a great job taking care of it. She obviously knows what she's doing to have 4c hair that looks like that. I'm sure that wasn't her last trim.
@growingwiththewades80938 жыл бұрын
+Nikki 7 it takes more than just growing your hair out for it to look healthy. that's not want healthy is. and in my opinion more did need to be trimmed off. if it stiff and stringy that means more needed to be trimmed. people don't want to do it because it means cutting more of their hair but if it has to be done it has to be done

+marie watson You're not lying about losing ALL your hair. My hair was past bra strap length when I bleached it twice. It looked great at first. But in addition to the bleaching, I was heat-styling AND my hair was relaxed. After a few months, I went from bra strap length to not even going past my neck. LITERALLY. That experience prompted me to go natural. I'm 5 months post relaxer now and my natural hair is sooooo much stronger, shinier, and healthier than my relaxed hair ever was! So in a way, I'm happy it happened because now I'm embracing my natural self....but sometimes I wonder how long my hair would be now if I didn't bleach it :-(
@shadele178 жыл бұрын
+Dantalian Gerhardtsreiter I hear you guys but hair is to be enjoyed for what it is. What's the point of having all that hair if you can't experiment with different styles and colours and so on. If it gets damaged (hopefully not) it will grow back. Afterall it's only hair. It's not that serious.

First off your hair is long, full, looks healthy and is beyond BEAUTIFUL. I want this woman to do my hair but she's fully booked :( yes the ends need a little trim who hasn't been guilty of this before?! But it doesn't take away from how stunning her hair looks. I only trim my hair twice a year lol and its really long. When you have natural hair and you moisturize your hair, don't use any heat for a while, wear protective styles, and deep condition weekly you can actually maintain your ends really well. It want need to be frequently clipped. That's at least how my hair works. I guess it could also be that I've been natural for almost five years and only flat ironed my hair four times. I usually wear braid outs and sometimes weave when I want a different look.
@nailsbytiffaneemckinley78458 жыл бұрын
+Nikita Love tension can be used on a damp hair cut instead of flat ironing for a trim or a blowdry round brush and a dry cut with tension as well... i am sure that helped her hair grow much longer as some use too much heat and damage the strands i love that her stylist only made 1 pass it definitely ensured not too much heat was used
@gidgethrobowski38608 жыл бұрын
Patricia, I wear my hair natural, too and I follow your same routine. Overtime, I damaged my hair from blowing dry and flat ironing to the point I had to give my hair a break. For special occasions I will wear it straight, but now I am addicted to my natural hair.

She needs a bigger trim
@kizzybrenda8 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing. It looks as though a good 2 to 2 1/2 inches could've still been taken off but some people think length is more important than health or they are scared to do a big trim because their hair grows slower...
@cutesiepie148 жыл бұрын
+Kaylah Taylor I agree more could have been taken off but I think it's that she has natural hair and when that hair is cut the shrinkage will make it look as if a LOT more has been cut off. She'd just need to trim it again in a few weeks that it would be gradual.
@MissHajj8 жыл бұрын
She has fine hair with a low to average density. Fine hair is hard to grow long AND thick. If her hair were unhealthy it wouldn't be as long as it is. Unless you have long, fine, low density hair, you won't understand her after trim looks perfect for her hair type at that length.
@kaylahtaylor96368 жыл бұрын
To me, it looks like she needs another inch or inch ina half cut. If what you say is true, her hair would look like that on her WHOLE hair. But ok.

Her ends are bothering me so much, like why do woman save ends! Ends are nothing but old dead hair...cut it you're not losing anything...your hair will thank you for that
@brebre223108 жыл бұрын
your hair from roots to tip is dead. plus it didn't really matter if her ends were like that, it was curled and styled not worn straight.
@alluregoddess21148 жыл бұрын
+brebre22310 your ends are the oldest part of your hair...roots are new growth...just my opinion she could've clipped a little more but hey everyone's different and care for their hair differently
@javonneb.86768 жыл бұрын
+brebre22310 Even if your hair is dead, holding on to split ends will cause it to split all the way up to your roots and stop growth and it can cause you to have to trim more. It can also break off easier and overall it just makes it look fuller and healthier
@msdaisyduketv8 жыл бұрын
Girl I wanted her to trim more! If you can see through it then cut it your not losing length!! And it will grow back and act so much better in its natural state
