9:03 "its 4am". Oh my goodness. Its bad enough cooks in the dfac have to get started at 0530, 0500 or 0430 but cooks in the field have to often get started even earlier. One time i went to the field, we had to get started at 0300. Damn this mos.

is the field different than deployment? I thought deployment meant over seas.

It can intertwine. I’m currently overseas but not all deployments are overseas and not all field activities are deployments

1:55 "if youre thinking about being a cook in the army, watch this video, cause its really not it". Facts. I dont care how much you enjoy cooking and working with food, dont be a cook in the military. If you insist on it, at least do it in the air force so you wouldnt have to do the field (at least not as much as the army). Dont be a cook in the military, especially not the army. Just listen.

@@PromiseWithAC Good luck. I've thought about doing AF reserves/guard (since I've heard those are way easier to get into than AF active duty as prior service) but I've been told by a few folks not to bother if I get a high enough VA disability (though they didn't say how high is "high enough"). Are you active duty right now or guard/reserves? If you are active duty then I really your pain.
