Thank you! Great video. There is just one little discrepancy. As a skydiver from long, long ago (I learned jumping the old para-comander round canopy). Nevertheless, at the end of the video he says "The way a skydiver would deploy their parachute." Actually that's the way a parachutist would cut-away a bad chute to then deploy their reserve parachute. I almost didn't mention it - but then I remembered that comments raise the algorithm KZbin uses to rate videos, and hey this video deserves a very good rating! Thanks again!

This reminds me of a trick I learned when I was picking up how to lace wires/cables from a transcription of a VERY old US Navy manual. Specifically, when the first knot is tied to bundle the wires into a harness, the free end is pulled under the whipping using either an initial bend or loop as you've done for this wrap, OR with another piece of cord/tape. This ensures that the free end of the knot isn't frayed.

This is very handy information for camping. It's an easy way to carry cord without it taking up space inside a pack. The knots that you tied at the ends of the paracord are not scaffold knots. They're Double Overhand knots. Scaffold knots creat a loop.

I've done it on my daily backpack I did it with longer mid-loop and was much easier to keep it centered if you pin it on top and just thread the rest of paracord. It will definitely depend on the width, length, amd thickness of the strap you are wrapping it around. That said, you could start out with a very long length of chord and wrap it till you get where you want, finish off the wrap and call it good without worrying about getting a certain amount.

this was a bit difficult to get started on my Morakniv sheath as the sheath is not flat so the loops kept slipping. i found that starting it loose, and then securing in the end made it a lot easier. excellent video, thanks for this!!

ropes and knots and quick releases and things like that are just things have always wanted to really get down and I've learned it a few times certain ones but then I forget I guess my brain is just geared for so many other things in the physical world but from ropes knots and things like that I just can't seem to remember that crap but this I'm going to remember thank you.

this is level 2 of tying a knot i think. took me like 4 years to master a knot. this is insane. who can do this stuff? the moment he went around to the other side, i was lost. how does he do this. i know its magic and you cant convince me otherwise.

I used this to fix my wife's purse strap. It was too long for her, she's 4'8", and didn't come with any way to shorten the strap, so I used this. She was very happy.
