Well.... I'd have to agree with you Lorelle and it's a very good point, one I'd never have realised had existed....with one small exception... I may be wrong, but generally speaking women tend to talk more about personal issues and problems with each other than men. I'm pretty sure this is a healthy and effective way to work through any concerns, issues you might have. On the other hand, some of us men aren't so good at expressing our feelings or concerns in the same arena and may find it kinda hard to open up to other men; especially in the work place. :)

Great film! I teach mental health, as well as being a retired FF, you are right, men, uniform, bravado! All reasons why men aged 40-50 are the biggest single group for completing suicide, please just talk to someone, it really does help 👍👍

If men find it hard to ask for help in this business, think how much harder it is for women, who are trying so much harder to live in a man's world. As a colleague once said to me: It's like Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers - she has to do everything Fred does, but backwards and in highheels.

Absolutely clueless. It's attitudes like this that drive so many men to suicide. How dare you generalise and stereotype people in such a vulnerable state. No person should be judged or criticised for having difficulty acknowledging their depression. Your idiotic statement only gives volume to the voice of negative reasoning that perpetuates depression

It really helps me to know that my ideation is nothing compared to if I were a woman in the same circumstances. It's affirming to know that others agree that my trying not to kill myself is further evidence that I'm a worthless wimp of a man. Thank you for proving the point I keep trying to avoid dealing with....that I'd be better off not being in the way of those worse off than me.
