@@Seraphobe Dude you are both entertaining, amusing, informative, honest, and more "zero bullshit" than ANYONE I met or saw in real life so far. I think the only reason you're not famous yet is either people aren't sharing your videos around enough or because there a lot of pussys out there who get easily offended and want to ignore the fucking truth only because it's unpopular, unpleasant, and/or taboo. I think those are shitty reasons not to be more well known. Society is seriously missing out on some of the most useful shit they'll ever hear their entire fucking lives. Sadly, I think that unless you do become more famous, the people who need to see these videos of yours the most will either never watch them or not watch them till it's too late

as always, very good points. reminds me of a quote i read, "happiness requires three things: something to do, something to love, and something to look forward to". the "do" part involves your explanation of agency and purpose. feeling insignificant can sometimes be both incredibly depressing and empowering at the same time.

Since you said so: Your face looks ugly or something. Just kidding Sera, this video is very informative. As someone who does suffer from depression it is nice to see someone else put into words how I feel about it, personally. While there are some parts I disagree on, such as how not addressing it can help it to go away (what happens when whatever fulfillment that the sufferer had goes away, for example, and they don't know what is wrong again), overall you made very good points with this video. You do genuinely need more subs because you're damn good.

I probably was not clear enough in the video about this. It helps to relieve the symptoms WHEN you are solving the underlying problem. However, ONLY relieving the symptoms won't do much in the long run. And you don't have to address the symptoms at all, if you manage to solve the underlying problem anyway. Sometimes it helps to address the symptoms first, sometimes it doesn't. Thanks for the comment. When I make videos it is very difficult for me to decide where should I expand and what should I leave out. Comments like yours help me to better express myself the next time.

Could not agree more. We are biological beings and as such some of our behavior, probably most of our behavior has deep roots in survival mechanisms. W are repelled by the smell of rotten meat, of animal wastes, fear snakes and high places. Males are aggressive and try to dominate each other, try to get the healthier females. Females are attracted to dominant males. Of course some of these things worked better for our hunter gatherer ancestors than it does for say road rage on a highway at seventy miles an hour. But they are still there. Judges hand out harsher sentences before lunch or in a room that smells bad. If you go to court remember deodorant! So when we contemplate a moral decision saying it does not feel right or smell right we are expressing this mind body connection. Mostly we follow the laws, the cultural norms and the things other people approve of rather than start from scratch each day working out morality like a math test. Just my opinion.

I was excited to see a new video from you, but also really scared of what you would truly say about this topic.Well, in the end I found it... alright. It's true, tough situations in life can cause depression, it doesn't often just appear out of nowhere. However, I think you could have been more precise with what you describe as treating depression, and what you think it means to treat underlying problems first. Like all things in our minds, these things are very intertwined, sometimes mixed, sometimes they switch place. While depression often starts as a symptom, it can over time become the actual problem. When that's the case, you can't just work on fixing things on your own. Your mental resources aren't enough to function. Depressed brain gives even more priority to even more rest and avoidance of anything, in hopes of _someday_ getting the energy it needs. It is a downward spiral. Nothing gives you enjoyment anymore. Former hobbies and interests do not interest you enough. You don't like yourself or other people enough. _Boredom does not bore you enough._ For me it was burnout, trying to survive on mere fumes for a very long time without realizing it, feeling like I had no time or energy for much else than what was really necessary to succeed. I did not realize that depression had already cut my mental resources and energy and that's why I couldn't keep up with some other peers. I just didn't feel I was enough. When I was finally done with forcing myself to go on, burnout kicked in, and I crashed hard. I went on a prolonged resting period to try to work on other aspects of my life. But my ability to enjoy or anticipate things, was damaged. I really needed external help, and ultimately medication, to get just enough resources and energy to go from _"eeeh I am not sure about that, nahh"_ to _"..I guess I gould give this a try"._ That's when my stagnating recovery finally became a slow _upward_ spiral. But I still don't quite remember what it's like to have the energy of a functioning human person, or how to get started with enjoyable things. Sorry this was long. Just like my recovery process.

Depression is just to do with Money. 99.9% of the time. 00.1% of the time its probably other factors, bereavements (because they're rare), loneliness, low status, no purpose , how you look, job satisfaction... But most problems - Money solves! So the reason why we aren't fulfilled the majority of the time is because we don't have financial freedom. When you have abundance, it comes in all departments of life. This is just my opinion. I have always agreed depression is not an illness its just a response to external factors, being beaten up by life and the world around us.
