If the existential anxiety gets to you, keep things super simple. We tend to complicate things and try to find meaning in the depths of living. A lot of the time, just enjoy the show and pass time the way you deem meaningful. We're all basically doing the exact same thing, just in different ways.

yyyyesss!! honestly I feel that I have depression and I found myself on a very hopeless shithole - stuff aren't working out, I don't have ANY external support, I am just so done. I crave comfort, coziness, attention and my work to bring as prgressive amount of income as it used to. I am worrying about paying off my bills, about not eating because of lack of finances, and I feel that if nothing i gonn change in a month - than I prefer to commit a suicide than become homeless or go back to my parents. After sleeping for 12 hours again, today I woke up when it was already dark, scrollled for some uplifting stuff on Facebook and just wanted to write on my feed "I'm dying" to hopefully recieve a offer of help. Gladly, I watcged this video, and I gained some sense of light in a tunnel - I will finally drink some ater, eat an apple, take a showerand get to work. But I really would love to have somebody to stick around , motivate and comfort me in person. Thanks again Scott. Your online presence and comforting monologue, means the world to me.@@depressiontoexpression

I graduated four years ago, but I haven't found a suitable job yet. I spent the four years learning some languages and cooking skills. Until now, I can't find anything to do other than spend time learning languages and going to the kitchen to try new foods. Sometimes I get bored and take a break for a while. A week or more after that, I do the same thing. Time passes and you have to choose what you spend. Hopefully, things will get better.❤

I admire your wonderful soul, energy, warmth, and desire to help those who (like me) feel lonely and misunderstood... I am eternally grateful to you because you helped me when it was the most difficult, and inspired me to be stronger and braver. Thank you for everything you do... Thank you so much for this Scott. This is what I needed to hear so badly! I always overthink and over analyze everything. Thinking being a "deep thinker" was a good think. But with this video, you opened up my eyes and I realized it was/is all this overthinking that is actually making me unhappy and more depressed. Thank you for this video Scott. I'll be watching this over and over again. ❤🙏

When I go out in my garden, I lose track of time sometimes. There's always something to do, something to look at, maybe someone comes by and we chat for a while. My garden is an awesome place for both physical work and rest. I can't even express how important it has become. Even though it requires some work, it gives so much back. I always feel positive after being outside, even if I only had time to take a short walk around the house. Our garden gives us apples, berries like strawberries and currants, rhubarb, different fresh spices. In the green house we grow different kinds of vegetables. There are wonderful trees and flower beds. I am truly blessed and happy!

Sounds fun! My family owns a few large greenhouses, growing tomatoes, peppers, cabbage, and cantaloupe. I thought for sure that I was going to work in an office for the rest of my life, but once I worked as a plant grower with my dad, I knew what my true calling is. Like you, I also feel positive after being outside! Took me awhile to accept the fact that accounting wasn’t my true dream. Eventually I realized I wanted to become an accountant for status and money. Those are fine priorities, but they aren’t my priorities; watching Scott’s videos helped me to see that I value God, family, friendship and fulfillment over material wealth and status. On top of that, I now understand that there is no reason for me to try to keep up with others. I have the choice of making my life fun and enjoyable, and can define my own success. Thanks for this beautiful comment!

I have always been afraid of getting lost in doing art lose track of time and feel that life and people have moved on without in that day or the hours Iam lost in that activity so never involve myself totally in the hobby activity and so iam never in the present or enjoy life as iam afraid of being lost!!! Ido not know how to be totally immersed in an activity!

I totally understand that feeling too. For me the problem stems from comparing myself with others. For example, I’m in my last year of university and my friends like to study a lot while I focus on my hobbies like playing guitar, making investment pitches, working on robotics, and learning about philosophy for fun. Sometimes I feel guilty since my friends are going to get higher grades than me, but then I reason with myself that it doesn’t matter at the end of the day. Really, what is the rush? This is our life and we have to make it one that is worth living. If we structure our lives around the priorities and values of other people, then we have failed to live authentically and originally. It’s my own race and I’m going to run it the way that I want. I also notice that people come and go! I used to compare myself a lot to my best friend of 17 years but now him and I parted ways. Once we stopped talking, I let go of those past comparisons and began comparing myself to new people. With that, I came to realize the uselessness of comparing yourself to others. To take that comparison point even further, we seem to place people on a pedestal and envision them to be 100% happy with their choices in life. This is also ridiculous to me because I’m essentially trying to find instances where I’m a failure compared to people, and this comparison is very unfair since I always neglect the fact that everyone has their own challenges in life, and not everything is as it seems (once you chat with these people sometimes they just spill the truth haha). Don’t be afraid to have fun! Be you! Be unique! We all need things that make life worth living. This world won’t ever stop, and people will be working and hustling. But you know what they’re thinking? They are definitely thinking about the hobbies they want to do when they get home, thinking about their cuddling their pets, thinking about the monotony of their job and wondering if this is really all that there is to life. Point is, we all just need to focus on ourselves and pass time in a way that makes our lives fun. My grandpa always drills this into my head and it’s helped me to enjoy my life. Hopefully this can help you too! Cheers!

All this advice I believe is good but what would you tell someone who is struggling in life not due to their choices or decisions but because of things like their place of birth or parents etc etc.... seems to me if you not lucky at birth you will unnecessarily suffer and none of this advice will work coz it's not on them! Taking it easy and riding out the storm my ass! Tell that to the debt collectors and grocery stores.... maybe they will stop charging me during tough times

It must be nice to have choices of things you like to do to pass time. I'm a slave in the system no matter what I do. You don't get choices when you're disabled and those "choices" you do get are all destructive to the body.
