Watching this today as I am about to call out of my job and take the day off to go shopping to get better clothes, makeup, and de-stress my body. I work in a dirty environment doing hard physical labor, I used to feel proud I could do a "man's job", but now I realize I just don't feel like a woman anymore. Time to find me a career that will help me embrace my femininity. Thanks so much.

My man is a six figure generous man who is 38 and I’m 24 - he doesn’t know how to dress for anything . He will say he likes women as tomboys blah blah but whenever I get cute he LOVES it - believe me !! Men love a dressed , polished woman.

I knew I was wasting my time on a guy when he purposefully kept trying to make me dress down. He would be like you don’t need makeup, you don’t need to do all that but I always told him I was like this my whole life. He knew that before he got involved with me and if he wants a crappy dressed girl who doesn’t take care of herself than he can get that but thats not who I am. Never been and never will be. For example my first job ever was being a courtesy clerk. The ones who bag groceries and collect carts but many customers was like “baby, you’re too pretty to be doing all that hard labor. You need to be behind a cash register showing that pretty face off” and kept notifying management about it then boom, I got promoted to being a cashier instantly so sorry to say it but looks are important whether you agree with it or not.

Brit Glitz if a man tells you that you should dress down, or wear less makeup, it usually means that you are not dressed appropriately, or you have too much makeup on. Going off the picture you have alone I can tell you have too much makeup on.

mccoyd33 Honestly I didn’t read much of what you said. I just skimmed through it. However based off what I skimmed, what it ACTUALLY means is he was always insecure that I always made sure my appearance was always nice which made him have to put forth more of an effort to have a great appearance as well. All he wanted to wear was sweat pants and flip flops all the time and I’m pretty sure there’s a female out there who loves that look however I don’t. So you can honestly call it whatever you want. I just call it pure insecurity, not wanting to level up, and just pure laziness. Now have a good day! 😁
@Melaninking33
@Melaninking33 6 жыл бұрын
Brit Glitz call it what you will. I’m literally telling what men actually think. Not some assumption BS like you get from everyone else on this channel. Insecurity? Ok. Not leveling up? Sure. You can use whatever buzz word, or catch phrase you can come up with. It doesn’t change facts. You have on too much makeup in your ACTUAL PICTURE. THE ONE EVERYONE CAN SEE. Also, why would you skim through the post? It was literally 2 sentences...haha. And he was lazy?
@PinkTiara1993
@PinkTiara1993 6 жыл бұрын
mccoyd33 Hmmm...that’s funny. All men or just you? I didn’t know you were the Spokesman for every man in the world. And you’re clearly stating an OPINION sir, not a fact. And my makeup is perfectly fine in my picture. It’s very neutral compared to clown makeup I have seen plenty of times before. I’m still going to be rocking neutral makeup and colorful hair bc I like it and there’s plenty of men that love it as well although you may not be a big fan of it. Also put up a pic of your face as well since you want to be so opinionated about other ppl appearances. Insecurity at it’s finest. But still have a great day! 🤗 And I skimmed through it bc I just knew it really was a waste of time to read honestly 🤷🏽‍♀️

It's true, sis! I am medium-dark? skinned and have attracted all shades and backgrounds of men. And not always Black men! I am also very tall with short, natural hair. Women who are complaining about colorism are missing the point; use what you have to get what you want! Femininity will get you everything.

@briana I agree. I am dark toned and white and Spanish/Mexican men love me. Mo man is white right now. I have never had a problem getting a man. Sometimes I’m confused about the colorism complaints bc myself and many other beautiful dark toned women I know always have men chasing us down. Bm love me as well and many people think they only like light women. That’s simply not true. If you’re beautiful it doesn’t matter what color you are. Especially if you’re more girly than the typical woman you’re really winning. I feel some unattractive women use their color as an excuse. I see unattractive light women desperate and lonely as well. I’ve had light women refuse to be my friend bc i get more attention than them.It’s not about color.

+Egypt Ra If you notice the women that end up getting assaulted are very masculine. Those women start yelling and acting aggressive then when they are met with that same aggression from the workers they like to pull the victim card. Full stop. You and I both know that if a black woman patronized a black nail salon and decided because she didn't like her nails that she was going to not pay and starts verbally abusing and/or attempting to assault the workers that they would be met with that same energy. No. If a service is performed that you dislike you request the manager, if that does not work just pay for the service, leave and dispute it with your bank or credit card company and NEVER patronize them again. Acting masculine gets you treated like a MAN. Too many black women are playing chess instead of playing checkers which is why collectively we are losing! Do you think Michelle Obama would be caught in a workers face because they gave her bad service NO!

For those still having a hard time with not being masculine: Imagine this? You have a pretty female cousin that only dates pro ballers. She announces that she just got engaged and wants to invite you to a causal engagement party at HIS mansion. With excitement she tells you that even though the party will be casual she wants you to dress really cute because his wealthy pro athlete single friends will be at the party. Do you show up in leggings, Jordans, Uggs, etc? Or do you make an effort to look cute and classy? If your cousin gave you a $200 Nordstrom gift card for a new outfit what would you buy? Think about it carefully and whatever you would buy/wear to the party that should be you everyday causal look.

I'm not exactly sure why some of us don't want alot of attention.....except maybe being shy, lacking confidence, etc. I know my mother use to do this as was molested when younger, so didn't want men looking at her. Hello Margo, I understand this. Although praise God I was never abused, as a young girl I hated a lot of attention. I am naturally introverted and shy. I am also over 6 ft tall and slim with a decent face. I felt dressing more tomboyish warded off that kind of attention. I also felt that being “girly” was a weakness because of what I’ve observed in the world. I am 30 now and am learning that being feminine is not a weakness. I am naturally more feminine and am doing all I can to reclaim it and “level up”...

Regarding non-alcoholic cocktails try: 1.Cranberry juice, lime and club soda. 2.Tonic water with lemon, lime or cucumber. 3.Lemonade or Limeade with salt rim. 4.Ginger ale or Non alcoholic Ginger Beer with lime or bitters. Regarding your voice, you can have a deep sultry voice and be feminine. It's equally important to use correct grammar and enunciation. Examples of feminine women with deep voices: Angela Bassett, Beyoncé and Gabrielle Union. Also when watching the news(yes you should know what's going on in your community and the world) pay attention to the women newscasters that also have deep voices. They had to learn how to control and train their voices in broadcasting school just as a professional signer/actor. It's not fake it's improving.

Shera honestly so grateful for you, I’m 20 and have been watching you for over a year now. I have a lot of masculine traits because of my mom and grandmother are not but they are both married so I thought I was good but I realized I don’t want the type of marriages or men that they have. I’m very pretty but always had an issue with men wanting to fight me because I’m very dominant. But everything that you said, is true, I used to reject the massage at first coz I’m very strong willed and I used to feel like I was rejecting myself. But I honestly want a functional family, and a provider man because I don’t see myself ever wanting to work in order to survive. I tell all my friends about you, so thank you for being my internet auntie, all the stuff you’ve been teaching me are finally clicking and I have a new out look on life and relationships.

Thanks for talking about this SheRa. We need to turn up the sexiness! When I see us walking around, we don't look it and I know we are sexy and classy. We are beautiful women!

When I was growing up I used to watch my mother cater to the man that was molesting me. Even though she knew about it, she wouldn't leave him. Why? I can only assume it was because she couldn't speak English, because she didn't have a job, because of her complete and utter dependence upon this man to take care of her and her children. I swore I would never put myself in this position. I promised I would get an education and never rely on anyone for my well-being. Also, at the time, feminism was on the rise and I learned that being independent was the new sexy. That we could do whatever we wanted and that the sexes were equal. Well let me tell you that they lied to us! As soon as I started making more money than my husband my marriage went to shambles. I can't seem to get any further ahead in my male dominated chosen career. And now because of my personality, I can't seem to attract hot guys. I am also confused about my sexuality as well when I am attracted to women or feminine men or closeted gay men. I'm up to the point that even though I know I am capable of holding my own it is not fulfilling and it's so much better if someone else does it for me. It's so crazy that I just keep fighting against my nature. Now I watch you and listen to what you say with an open mind and you're like the mom I never had that was supposed to be teaching me these things. It all makes sense cuz whatever I'm doing is NOT working. So thank you! I am scared however that once I embrace my femininity I will forget how to take care of business should the shit hit the fan you know? Does that make sense? Like I need a back up plan because people are so unreliable!

it makes sense..... but there are many ways to get paid these days.... you don't have to work for people , you can work for self and start a business online, save , invest and still allow yourself to be feminine and let a man support you as well without him knowing your financial business or savings info....

Allowing a person to victimize you or your own child is very different from being feminine and viewing yourself as a prize men must earn. My heart aches for the pain and betrayal you have experienced. Keep working hard and putting yourself first. Just hide any direct ambition, competition, bossiness, etc - as guys are turned off by this. You will never actually LOSE these traits, though. It's like speaking another language or riding a bike. You can't be cared for and lose the ability to make life work for you.

I never felt pretty enough to wear makeup and now I’m 37 and I wear leggings and I’m over being comfortable being plain and invisible. I’m going to try because I want to be happy and I have a daughter and I want her to see me being confident and I want her to be confident

Growing up being too girly and feminine was seen as a weakness and made you at target for bullies. In also was raised by a masculine father and wanted to be like him. I have a very pretty face and am petite and curvy so boys still gave me lots of attention. But growing into a woman, I've FULLY embraced being softer and feminine. It came easy because my mother is and always was and dressed to kill just stepping out the house. I can understand some women being intimated by the attention by bitter, manly women. I stand out and get attention every where I go and if I wasn't secure in myself like i am, I'd buckle to the rudeness and unfriendly women. I'll never change, only get better. They better level up!

Lmao lady ❤️ thank you I truly love you for bringing me back to my senses. I’m that mom pushing a stroller with heels. 🤣😭😂 that’s who I’ve ALWAYS inspired to be your definitely the big sister I’ve always wanted. Lol my actual sister is older than you so I think it’s appropriate. I was the random child so my family is older and as a result I’ve learned to be feminine but they have old thinking. I truly appreciate you!

It's usually the older the child that's more masculine, especially if the girl is the oldest child. The parents train her to become more masculine because they expect more since she's older.

Wow, I can't beleive this video is from four years ago because thus stuff directly aligns with my mindset as of late. I've been through a lot of things in the past few years that chipped away at my femininity and I'm just now reaching a place mentally where I'm getting back to it. I've been working on myself and I'm getting better and better everyday and I'm so proud of myself😁 And proud of people like Shera for making this content because so many women need to hear it- urgently lol.

The truth of the matter is that alot of men have become feminine, but that's another topic for another day. The truth of the matter is that as a REAL WOMAN, you must exhibit both masculine & feminine characteristics at the APPROPRIATE times. Both men & women will see a woman as weak if she is overly feminine. You have to be able to be & BALANCE BOTH POLARITIES within your everyday dealings with people. That's how it really needs to go down.
