Watching this today as I am about to call out of my job and take the day off to go shopping to get better clothes, makeup, and de-stress my body. I work in a dirty environment doing hard physical labor, I used to feel proud I could do a "man's job", but now I realize I just don't feel like a woman anymore. Time to find me a career that will help me embrace my femininity. Thanks so much.

I knew I was wasting my time on a guy when he purposefully kept trying to make me dress down. He would be like you don’t need makeup, you don’t need to do all that but I always told him I was like this my whole life. He knew that before he got involved with me and if he wants a crappy dressed girl who doesn’t take care of herself than he can get that but thats not who I am. Never been and never will be. For example my first job ever was being a courtesy clerk. The ones who bag groceries and collect carts but many customers was like “baby, you’re too pretty to be doing all that hard labor. You need to be behind a cash register showing that pretty face off” and kept notifying management about it then boom, I got promoted to being a cashier instantly so sorry to say it but looks are important whether you agree with it or not.
@Melaninking336 жыл бұрын
Brit Glitz if a man tells you that you should dress down, or wear less makeup, it usually means that you are not dressed appropriately, or you have too much makeup on. Going off the picture you have alone I can tell you have too much makeup on.
@PinkTiara19936 жыл бұрын
mccoyd33 Honestly I didn’t read much of what you said. I just skimmed through it. However based off what I skimmed, what it ACTUALLY means is he was always insecure that I always made sure my appearance was always nice which made him have to put forth more of an effort to have a great appearance as well. All he wanted to wear was sweat pants and flip flops all the time and I’m pretty sure there’s a female out there who loves that look however I don’t. So you can honestly call it whatever you want. I just call it pure insecurity, not wanting to level up, and just pure laziness. Now have a good day! 😁
@Melaninking336 жыл бұрын
Brit Glitz call it what you will. I’m literally telling what men actually think. Not some assumption BS like you get from everyone else on this channel. Insecurity? Ok. Not leveling up? Sure. You can use whatever buzz word, or catch phrase you can come up with. It doesn’t change facts. You have on too much makeup in your ACTUAL PICTURE. THE ONE EVERYONE CAN SEE. Also, why would you skim through the post? It was literally 2 sentences...haha. And he was lazy?
@PinkTiara19936 жыл бұрын
mccoyd33 Hmmm...that’s funny. All men or just you? I didn’t know you were the Spokesman for every man in the world. And you’re clearly stating an OPINION sir, not a fact. And my makeup is perfectly fine in my picture. It’s very neutral compared to clown makeup I have seen plenty of times before. I’m still going to be rocking neutral makeup and colorful hair bc I like it and there’s plenty of men that love it as well although you may not be a big fan of it. Also put up a pic of your face as well since you want to be so opinionated about other ppl appearances. Insecurity at it’s finest. But still have a great day! 🤗 And I skimmed through it bc I just knew it really was a waste of time to read honestly 🤷🏽♀️

Bm love me as well and many people think they only like light women. That’s simply not true. If you’re beautiful it doesn’t matter what color you are. +Egypt Ra If you notice the women that end up getting assaulted are very masculine. Those women start yelling and acting aggressive then when they are met with that same aggression from the workers they like to pull the victim card. Full stop. You and I both know that if a black woman patronized a black nail salon and decided because she didn't like her nails that she was going to not pay and starts verbally abusing and/or attempting to assault the workers that they would be met with that same energy. No. If a service is performed that you dislike you request the manager, if that does not work just pay for the service, leave and dispute it with your bank or credit card company and NEVER patronize them again. Acting masculine gets you treated like a MAN. Too many black women are playing chess instead of playing checkers which is why collectively we are losing! Do you think Michelle Obama would be caught in a workers face because they gave her bad service NO!

I think ALOT of women aren't confident enough or don't have self esteem to dress to point of standing out and really being noticed. I'm not exactly sure why some of us don't want alot of attention.....except maybe being shy, lacking confidence, etc. I know my mother use to do this as was molested when younger, so didn't want men looking at her. Thanks for all your advice!
@Blakmagic886 жыл бұрын
Hello Margo, I understand this. Although praise God I was never abused, as a young girl I hated a lot of attention. I am naturally introverted and shy. I am also over 6 ft tall and slim with a decent face. I felt dressing more tomboyish warded off that kind of attention. I also felt that being “girly” was a weakness because of what I’ve observed in the world. I am 30 now and am learning that being feminine is not a weakness. I am naturally more feminine and am doing all I can to reclaim it and “level up”...

Everytime I dress up with dresses or skirts I get a lot of attention and sometimes it's scary, mostly at night time, I'm scared of being rape and that happens a lot. That's why I would never get drunk in first place, so nobody can take this like an advantage.

Shera, I need to say "thank you". I'm making my first baby steps in acting feminine and I've already noticed a difference. Men seem to want to take care of me, treat me like someone more delicate and don't compete with me because they don't need to anymore. I've always been the know-it-all type and it's ultrahard for me not to but as previously said - doing it by baby steps makes it lots easier and feasible. My daughter did run into a celebrity at the grocery store. Jack White. She wasn't dressed cute but thankfully she is very beautiful and young (a model) and he invited her to come to his show. Okay here's where it gets real stupid. She actually told him, she had to go to work. When I heard about this, I told her that she should have called in sick to her job. The only thing she walked away with was a photo of her and Jack. She could have married him because she was signed with the same agency as his ex wife.

Regarding non-alcoholic cocktails try: 1.Cranberry juice, lime and club soda. 2.Tonic water with lemon, lime or cucumber. 3.Lemonade or Limeade with salt rim. 4.Ginger ale or Non alcoholic Ginger Beer with lime or bitters. An upscale bar will know how to make these type of drinks look sleek and elegant. They know many people don't drink for a variety or reasons.

Regarding your voice, you can have a deep sultry voice and be feminine. It's equally important to use correct grammar and enunciation. Examples of feminine women with deep voices: Angela Bassett, Beyoncé and Gabrielle Union. Also when watching the news(yes you should know what's going on in your community and the world) pay attention to the women newscasters that also have deep voices. They had to learn how to control and train their voices in broadcasting school just as a professional signer/actor. It's not fake it's improving.

When I was growing up I used to watch my mother cater to the man that was molesting me. Even though she knew about it, she wouldn't leave him. Why? I can only assume it was because she couldn't speak English, because she didn't have a job, because of her complete and utter dependence upon this man to take care of her and her children. I swore I would never put myself in this position. I promised I would get an education and never rely on anyone for my well-being. Also, at the time, feminism was on the rise and I learned that being independent was the new sexy. That we could do whatever we wanted and that the sexes were equal. Well let me tell you that they lied to us! As soon as I started making more money than my husband my marriage went to shambles. I can't seem to get any further ahead in my male dominated chosen career. And now because of my personality, I can't seem to attract hot guys. I am also confused about my sexuality as well when I am attracted to women or feminine men or closeted gay men. I'm up to the point that even though I know I am capable of holding my own it is not fulfilling and it's so much better if someone else does it for me. It's so crazy that I just keep fighting against my nature. Now I watch you and listen to what you say with an open mind and you're like the mom I never had that was supposed to be teaching me these things. It all makes sense cuz whatever I'm doing is NOT working. So thank you! I am scared however that once I embrace my femininity I will forget how to take care of business should the shit hit the fan you know? Does that make sense? Like I need a back up plan because people are so unreliable!
@SheRaSeven15 жыл бұрын
it makes sense..... but there are many ways to get paid these days.... you don't have to work for people , you can work for self and start a business online, save , invest and still allow yourself to be feminine and let a man support you as well without him knowing your financial business or savings info....

Allowing a person to victimize you or your own child is very different from being feminine and viewing yourself as a prize men must earn. My heart aches for the pain and betrayal you have experienced. Keep working hard and putting yourself first. Just hide any direct ambition, competition, bossiness, etc - as guys are turned off by this. You will never actually LOSE these traits, though. It's like speaking another language or riding a bike. Growing up being too girly and feminine was seen as a weakness and made you at target for bullies. In also was raised by a masculine father and wanted to be like him. I have a very pretty face and am petite and curvy so boys still gave me lots of attention. But growing into a woman, I've FULLY embraced being softer and feminine. It came easy because my mother is and always was and dressed to kill just stepping out the house. I can understand some women being intimated by the attention by bitter, manly women. I stand out and get attention every where I go and if I wasn't secure in myself like i am, I'd buckle to the rudeness and unfriendly women. I'll never change, only get better. They better level up!

The truth of the matter is that alot of men have become feminine, but that's another topic for another day. The truth of the matter is that as a REAL WOMAN, you must exhibit both masculine & feminine characteristics at the APPROPRIATE times. Both men & women will see a woman as weak if she is overly feminine. You have to be able to be & BALANCE BOTH POLARITIES within your everyday dealings with people. That's how it really needs to go down.
