I’m pretty sure that, with your flying skills, you could make a brick fly if you had enough wind. Nice job! Don’t get me wrong, I love seeing your immaculate and amazing builds, but seeing stuff this simple glide through the air with ease brings me a lot of joy and hope.

I once heard a NACA era veteran say that with enough power, anything can be made to fly, this in reference to the “Flying Bathtub” research vehicle. Certainly not the same set of variables, but you get the idea, and brick was the first thing that popped into my head.

@@asw19B100 I come from the world of kites, having been a professional kite maker for about a decade. I used to tell folks “Give me enough wind and some time to find the right harness point, and I can make a brick fly.”. This was usually in reference to some of my less stellar designs that somehow still managed to climb in the air. :-)

I thought this was another friend's video, but then I remembered he doesn't have an KZbin account :D The design is very similar, but the wing has come camber on his and it's also powered with middle motor with slotted prop, size-wise it's almost identical😄 I like the A-tail on this one, makes it look unique!

heres a thought ,,, could you make the trailing edges of the wings longer , and turn the whole thing square ,,, make the same style of tail and make it the same shape as a kfc box ,,, paint the wings to look like a table cloth and the tail to look like a kfc box , then tell folk its the new table top delivery system being tested ,,, in secret .

Why does an aeroplane fly with wings that have no airfoil?

Any glider, whether it be a simple Paper Dart with no airfoil, or a real glider with proper wings, will trade altitude for airspeed. If you launch them both from a set point, in zero wind, they will only fly along until they reach the ground. It’s just that the one with the airfoil will be a lot more efficient and fly further. It is the wings Angle of Attack that is the main component of lift. This is how an aerobic plane can fly with a completely symmetrical airfoil. My glider is just an oversized paper dart which is only flying because the air being forced up over the hill is rising faster than the glider is falling. The glider is always flying downhill in relation to the surrounding air, just not in relation to the ground.

Yes, I too noticed there was no rudder when I was looking to see how such tight turns were achieved. Amazed to find only elevons. Nothing like keeping it simple!! Well done and thank you John.
