The two piece design reminds me a little of the old Shimano fightin spinning rods from the late 80s that came apart just below stripper guide. I still have my 6’6” fightin rod I got for Christmas when I was in high school.

Lost me at 2pc for 6'5" rod. Anxiously waiting for the GLX 841s.

You’re missing out, some of the unique jdm rods built for the Biwa rig (mid stroll) are short but absolutely perfect for the technique. The best that I’ve had are all solid tip which makes a huge difference when using 1/8oz and less jigheads. Most rods, as well as many baits, won’t actually get the bait to rock back and forth, the bait will just kind jump around to the point that you might as well just straight retrieve it. They also allow for using a more powerful backbone while still having a ton of tip. Which is why Kyoya was able to get bass in the boat with 6’1” L powered rod faster than anyone else in the field on Champlain last year. The shorter lengths also allow for more control of the bait, more response allowing the bait to move more dramatically with significantly less effort, as well as fatigue. Especially with mid strolling specifically. Using anything without a solid tip or anything 7’ and up whether it’s an $100 Ark all the way up to an NRX+, the amount of shake you have to put into it to actually get the bait to get a minimum of 90 degrees in either direction is retarded. I used to think the same thing, until I fished Lake Biwa and saw the Biwa rig (what is now being called mid stroll) first hand and got a super deep dive into it.

its offset handle which is definitely a pros not a con.
