Consumer confidence is just a snapshot of how consumers feel about the economy. It's not the state of the economy. The index goes up and down. It was up last month. The unemployment rate is low. The inflation growth rate continues to slow. The Fed just cut interest rates with more planned, which will make borrowing cheaper for purchasing vehicles, materials for home projects, and such as well as keep employment high. This is not a wrestling match between wall street and main street where one must lose for the other to win. In any capitalistic system, there will be winners and losers. The key is to make good life choices about education, career, and spending habits that put you in the best chance of winning.
