This has to be the most nostalgic map ever made by Treyarch. You may have played it many times but did you know all the secrets that lie outside the walls of the facility? Paw prints, a rotating moon, and even a UFO landing pad...there's a lot to The Giant most don't know.

Been loving this series! The white lighting when you go too far out of the map is caused by you leaving the Sun volume, so outside of that volume the lighting is not built.

The structure out the back isn't for a UFO it's for an engine from a TR3B. The TR3B is often referred to as a space ship but all it really is, is a manned craft, they super cool murcury and spin it at ridiculous speeds. When murcury is at sub zero it causes virtually no friction while creating crazy amounts of momentum. The shape of this engine is a bell shape, a very similar shape to the teleporters in all of the zombies games, infact that's where they got the inspiration from.

No, the bell shape is based off of the legend of Die Glocke or "The Bell". A supposed German Wunderwaffe that was speculated to be either a UFO or a teleportation device. A bunch of old zombies lore was based off of the occultism of the Nazi regime and all the supposed things they created. The TR3B is a relatively new conspiracy

Also genuinely curious to see what the paw prints are, spread around the map. I can’t find anything online for them except that “they were in the original map and have a texturing issue”, but that doesn’t explain why there are so many in areas you would never be able to see. It’s interesting to say the least

Also, the barriers on the side of the stairs on the outside of the map is probably for the zombies, to make sure that they walk all the way down the stairs instead of trying to walk off the sides, I've had to do it before because zombies would try and cut corners and get stuck

The hanging man is supposed to be porter (atleast its assumed) in one of the radio's porter is rushed by zombies and the 935 scientist have a book that says they are to carry a cyanide pill with them at all times to "take the easy way out". (yk cause they're scientists so if they're caught better to kick the bucket then to potentially release information) so anyways Porter is rushed doesn't have his Cyanide so all he can do is hang himself which he does. The word "trinity" right before you see Porter is in spawn, if you're facing the pack-a-punch to the left there writing on the wall the talks about the Trinity and yes the Trinity is the teleporters. nice video🙏🏼

@@spirituskitsune it was more of an umbrella contingency plan. the zombies weren't meant to be hostile, they were meant to be dumb and easily trainable but once Samantha got teleported to the pyramid she took control of them thus making them ravage the Ultimus crew as to stop Richtofen from getting control. Basically the cyanide pill was for any reason an easy way out was needed which does include not being mauled by zombies

We've seen 5 (technically 6) of those robots so far... 4 in Origins, one in The Giant, and one in the intro to Der Eisendrache (which is implied to be the one from The Giant) The 3 (functional) ones in Origins are named Thor, Odin, and Freya. (Then there's the broken one by generator 2, which I call "Loki") And then the one in The Giant I've taken to calling "Heimdall" because it has the lasers that fire from its eyes... (I also named the ones in Gorod Krovi, those being "Baba Yaga" and "Koshmar" those names being Russian for "boogyman" and "Nightmare" respectively) Not important or overly relevant, but I just thought it'd be fun to share my headcannon names for the robots (aside from the 3 in Origins that we interact with)

This map always reminded me of the dlc map Nightfire from WaW since you mentioned Vendetta Plus the hanging body in the back is all the way from WaW in the original I believe he’s hanging in the doorway right in front of the steps, more showing.. they hid it little bit more here

the paw prints are a rendering error for a blood decal. the additive rendering is not working correctly. call of duty's engine has always been very buggy when it comes to decals so it is not surprising
