I stopped with this beautiful hobby for 6 years and I'm going back but I don't remember how to work on my car this video helped alot. I have the differential casing broken I need to figure out where to get it 😬. Awesome video thanks 👍🏽

Glad this was helpful!! All those parts used to be on Banggood.com. A few on Amazon. Hopefully they still are!

Great video! Eyeing a Cheetah myself, so this is useful info, but I do have the hbx 16889 which you also seem to have.

The cheetah is great fun, but can get costly in parts replacements. Check out my video on the durability upgrade on the cheetah. It is definitely needed if you plan on bashing it. I’m going to have another bash video on it this week, and a full in-depth review of it coming up soon as well. Thanks for watching and the comments!

Can you please give us the link for the rc parts bearings ? Great video !!!!!!!!!!!
@DerbyCityRC3 жыл бұрын
I can’t get an actual link like I thought I could, but they are sold on www.fasteddybearings.com Type in MR105-2RS. It will pull up several of the exact same thing with different labels. Thanks for watching!!

My JLB Cheetah Strut support bolt snapped in half. The long bolt that attaches the Upper part of the strut to the frame (not lower part which attaches to the control arm). Can you recommend where to source this long bolt? Ive looked everywhere online, and all seem too short
@DerbyCityRC Жыл бұрын
The cheetah just uses m3 bolts and nuts for that if I can remember. I’m pretty sure I drilled the holes out in my shock towers so I could install m4 bolts and nuts
@mehimrc13143 жыл бұрын
Sorry dude but you don't need to remove the upper control arms to do diffs. they'll also hold oil if you re-shim the internal gears. They have o-rings around the diff cups and a gasket on the crown gear. Nice mod for bracing the chassis though
@DerbyCityRC3 жыл бұрын
I had a bent lower arm pin, so I removed the uppers to make sure they weren’t bent. It also helped with the replacement of the bearings. Thanks that chassis bar really helps. I’m subbed to your channel by the way. You always have good info!
@mehimrc13143 жыл бұрын
@@DerbyCityRC I see was wondering why the arms were out the way lol. The tower brace looks sweet bro really impressed with that mod you done.
@DerbyCityRC3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Every cheetah owner should do it! Lol After two rear diff housing breaks, I knew I needed to do something. When you get a chance, watch the durability upgrade, epic bash cheetah video. I ran it hard and it never broke a diff housing. Still some damage though lol.

@@DerbyCityRC I will do bro, if it's nice and clear how to do mod. I'll get it done and give you a shoutout for your mod.

Hey whats up man! Is that red n tacky your using on the diff? How’s it work? I always use super lube but sometimes it’s not thick enough. Do you use it on the spider gears too? I’m really not sure if RC diff gears are even called spider gears. Im a mechanic too, so that’s what I call em lol. l figured you know what I’m talkn about lol.
@DerbyCityRC Жыл бұрын
Nice! Ya I call them spider gears too, but seems so does everyone else lol. I’m one of the few that calls the “swing arms” control arms lol. But yes that is red & tacky! I’ve had that same tube for over 15 years lol. Seems to work well so I just keep using it. I have used in on the spiders also, but in most RCs, you want to use a thick diff oil to help keep the diffs from being so open and lock them up slightly.
@MarcoL972 Жыл бұрын
@@DerbyCityRC I do the same lol. Upper and lower control arms, tie rods, ball joints. Always using car terms lol. I have a tube of that stuff in my garage. I haven’t used it on my rcs though. I’m gona try it out. What kind of diff oil do you use? What do you use in the cheaper rcs that don’t have sealed diffs? like the Flyhal, or px9200
@DerbyCityRC Жыл бұрын
I do the same 🤣 Like second nature to us lol. In my Kraton I put 500k fluid in my center diff and 100k in my front and rear. I think I may go 500k on all 3 though. Possible higher in the center. amzn.to/3PyQx0Z amzn.to/3PwtCU4 For the cheaper cars, I haven’t tried anything yet. Though I really want to. If they don’t hold fluid (the center diff might on the hbx 2995 and the Flyhal fc610) then I’ll probably use silicone earplugs: amzn.to/3HG5hZV I’m about to order these.
@MarcoL972 Жыл бұрын
@@DerbyCityRC 🤣🤣 definitely second nature us! Wow I never even thought of that! Silicone ear plugs! Who would have thought lol. Im going to try that on the flyhal. I think that might work in the center diff. The one problem I have had with that truck is keeping the center diff tight. The grease always finds it’s was out. Maybe it will also cure that crazy noise that comes from the center diff. Mine is loud, I heard it on your video too. Thanks for all the good info man. I appreciate it!
@DerbyCityRC Жыл бұрын
Yup! I’m gonna use it too. I agree the center diff on the Flyhal seems more open (and louder) than the one on the 2995. But yes I bet those earplugs will be the best bet. It will wheelie a lot more for sure! You’re welcome! 👍👍🤘

Can we see that motor that gets too hot after a few nseconds burn up??? pretty please i wanna see the faulty motopr who knows maybe you will burn through the motors issue and it will free up.. try not to stab myself lol wise advice especially working on 16 scales.. totally stabbed myself in the thumb trying to open a diff./..
@DerbyCityRC Жыл бұрын
Well it kept going into shut down mode. The esc turned off to save itself and the motor lol. I sent it back for warranty like a year ago anyway lol. Yes, no stabby!
@fail2act3 жыл бұрын
Can't you try to open that engine? Maybe you blew an engine bearing as well and it's an easy fix
@DerbyCityRC3 жыл бұрын
I did actually open it and both bearings rolled smoothly. I went ahead and ordered another of the same motor. Feels like a quality piece so I’ll give it another shot.
