Visions In Blue is probably in my top five Ultravox songs. This is the band that launched me into synth, and a love for music in general back in 1984 when I discovered them. It's pure joy seeing a reaction and observation of such an important song.

Oh my God! It's been a long time since I've heard the title "Visions in Blue" ... And you're right Dereck, it's a masterpiece, an incredible track, a perfect blend of Midge Ure and UltraVox.

Ultravox was such a great group with the brilliant Midge Ure standing out from the rest. This is early days synth music and it still beats the s... out of many performers today. Listen to their catalogue and you will find several masterpieces. So great that you have stumpled across this fantastic group.

I am a UVOX fan. This is the first track of the second side "Quartet" album. The album is good (not a huge) and this song is one of his best. One of my favorite too. An excellent choice 😊

There's a reason this isn't the official video. Shall we say, it has a bit of a link to some of Duran Duran's videos? One of Ultravox's best! Thanks!

Probably my favourite Ultravox track. Hymn and The Voice also sit up there as well. I rotate between those three depending on my mood. The vocal, the orchestrations, the beat, it's just pure perfection. The word epic is actually so appropriate. The final swell in the last verse when he goes back into his belt alwaus gives me shivers. Midge Ure is probably one of the finest pop vocalists of the 80s.

Saw Midge at Perth Concert Hall 3 weeks ago on the Catalogue tour. The place was jumping as he played hit after hit, his voice, guitar and keyboard playing still fantastic. Absolutely brilliant! See him in concert if you get the chance.

Ultravox were my first musical love (as a very very young child, a toddler), and they will always be. They were never really given the credit for how pioneering and influencial they were on what came after, not only musically but also visually with their videos and they never had the success they should have in the states. I love that the internet and youtube in particular is opening their genius up to a whole new generation.... thankyou for being a part of that!

The entire Ultravox legacy - Foxx through Ure, is full of haunting music and mystery... They connected with something kind of numinous that trancends time.

I have NEVER, EVER had someone describe the song in the same way I do. Thank you for agreeing! You described it the first way I did when I bought the album in the 80s.

Sang this for my singing exam back in the late 80's. No-one was more surprised than me when I passed! The original music video was a bit risque for it's time - probably still is! If you remember Band Aid - Midge Ure had as much to do with it as Bob Geldof! (and Bob got a bloody knighthood!)

Great reaction Dereck. Imagine listening to this on cassette back in the day. With no access to MTV. All we had was a crappy pair of headphones but it was still amazing!

James Ure, has probably one of the best dramatic, powerful voices ever. When he joined the band there was already a Jim, so he reversed it to Mij, but this didn't seem very sophisticated, so they spelt Mij as Midge, and the legend was born
