LOVE this song!! It was also Princess Diana's favorite!! Yes, the "stomps" were created on Maurice's new equipment in his garage studio! Love the stomps, love the harmonies, love Barry's ponytail, love Robin's tam and long hair, love Maurice's harmonies and ingenuity! Great song!! Funny that no one wanted the stomps when they went to record and produce, but they refused to change that in any way and now it is the very thing that makes the song!!
@katie-didellis24373 жыл бұрын
The brothers always knew what was best for their songs, so the Stomps stayed. They were such an amazing talent. You know in many bands there are great performers the frontman you know maybe the drummer but here all three were musical Geniuses. I've been their fan for over 50 years. Nothing tops them. I hope that Barry listens to these reactions and seeing young people who haven't heard of them just really get blown away by their talent.

Apart from an extensive back catalogue stretching back to the 1960’s we shouldn’t forget what prolific songwriters and producers for others either. They wrote and produced Dionne Warwick’s Heartbreaker album which spawned the song of the same name. Apparently Dionne was not sold on heartbreaker but recorded it anyway trusting the Bee Gees confidence in saying it was a hit-in-the-making. She later said she was laughing all the way to the bank because it became her biggest commercial success of the 89’s, Bee Gees then wrote, produced and did the backing vocals on it. They did the same for Diana Ross’ Chain Reaction!! And one of the biggest duets Islands In The Stream recorded by Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers was yes …… written by the brothers Gibb, the Bee Gees!!

My dear man, if you thought this song from the 1980's was great, PLEASE listen to "Alone" (1997 - Official video). Superb harmonies ...Robin's voice during the chorus, the words - an absolute gem of a song from the Brothers Gibb, who only improved with each decade of music! Another classic from the 1980's "For Whom The Bell Tolls" - You won't be disappointed, I promise!

If you react to "For whom the Bell Tolls" be sure to get the one where they are singing under the Brooklyn Bridge. The Statue of Liberty and the Twin Towers in the background still standing, is haunting to Americans. Barry and Robin take turns singing lead. Robins voice is hauntingly beautiful. It's a great song.

This song leapt out of the radio at me, like a slap in the face, lol. The production really stood out, sounding so full and yet hollowed out at the same time, a very clever trick. And that chorus hook is to die for.

It played very little in the United States. The Bee Gees were targeted in the war on Disco. Radio DJs wouldn't play any Bee Gees music during that time, or they would have been chart-topping in the U.S. again. Oh, and Barry rocked that George Washington ponytail!

Barry Gibb is such a legend. Have you seen his duet with Michael Jackson ‘All In Your Name’? They recorded it a few years before MJ died and although it wasn’t released commercially, Barry Gibb released it himself on his own KZbin channel after MJ died. It’s brilliant.
