Justin, I could sit and listen to you and your father for hours. This video is simply brilliant. What a fantastic relationship you both have, and to be able share this love of cars and racing together? You are very fortunate and seem very humble.. Thanks for sharing..

I met him on my first visit to Silverstone in 1983, for the 1000 km Group C race. He was in the Rothmans Porsche, and he was very approachble and willing signed my programme! He won the race also, sharing the car with another legend called Stefan Bellof!!A great day!!

Melanie introduced me to your Father back in the nineties when I had an indoor kart track in London called F1 Chelsea. We had several charity events over the years and Derek never failed to turn up, generously donating his time, over and over again, to give to the causes we supported. I cannot find the words to express my gratitude for his kindness, manner, charm and never ending sense of humour that he presented to me, my staff and especially to the children who were there to enjoy a special day out. Thank you, Derek, from the bottom of my heart and best wishes for many more birthdays to come. Mike Mallinson

You will never believe it but I was researching a UN-1 gearbox upgrade for an esprit and found this.. what a marvelous find, thank you so much Justin and the Bell family for sharing this with us. Your dad is an incredibly young 75..... more like 60 if you ask me... and I was so pleased to see a manual 550. :-) racing drivers are exempt from all road driving regulations, so far as I am concerned, because you know what to do when your facing the wrong way :-) the rest of us including me, need to learn how to drive. My only claim to fame is spinning a radical under race instruction... without damaging it... and that was probably because I was going to slow... :-) I was still learning the meaning of downforce... :-( Thank you so much again.... PS. I bought an R8 V10 plus after your little video.... to go with the RS6 family avant.

Your dad will always be a Rock Star Legendary driver and hero to all of us who lived through him as a Race Car Driver. Best job in the world. It’s cool seeing you as a middle ager (like me) hanging out with pops and reminiscing. Last time I saw you was with you mom and bro in your dad’s awesome Le Mans film.

Thanks for sharing your special moments with your father. Enjoy every minute being with him. I miss my Father who died in his mid-50s so much. It's great that you've recorded this moment with your father. I sure wish I had video of my Dad and Grandfather. Just to hear their voices again would really make my day, but I don't have any recordings of them.

Lovely video! Absolutely brilliant! Great father and son stuff. Reminds me of the great relationship I had with my dad. I met Derek and Justin at the Porsche media event at the Los Angeles Auto Show in 2015 and asked Mr. Bell to sign his book. He was so very kind and polite. A true gentleman. An honour to meet such nice guys. Happy Birthday and again great video!
