Funny, just read an article where Ted names his favorite guitarists, and he includes Derek St Holmes and goes out of his way to praise him. Kind of makes me wonder why, every time I saw Nugent when he was touring with St. Holmes back in the 70's that every time St. Holmes took a solo his Amp would suddenly shut off. I saw this happen 3 or 4 times. No wonder he quit!

@cardlink628 жыл бұрын
LesSmith45 I agree with you to a point. Yes, Ted and Derek together back in the day were on fire. It was a magical time for Rock Music that we may never see again. However, I didn't say St. Holmes was a better guitarist than Ted or that Ted was a better singer. What I said was that these guys do as good as Teds band if not better and that I believe Derek's better now than he was in the 70's. I've seen them together back in the day, seen Ted umpteen times through the years and Derek a couple of times. What I'm hearing in this video got in my soul and gave me chills. I simply think it's better than what I heard from Teds band the last time I saw them. I just don't get that feeling when I see Teds anymore. Ted's definitely a draw and puts on a great show but this band, or at least in this video, musically, energy, vocally and goosebump factor is better than Teds band.

ALL those Nugent songs were written by St. Holmes, Davies, Grange and Nugent, but Nugent and his Mgr cut the band out from copyrights and claimed them only for Nugent. This is why the sound changed so much after they left. Nugent didn't write those songs solely by himself. He took all the credit, all the cash, fired his best band and bought hunting ranches.

Loved ya from Call of the Wild through some of the LP after NUGENT. Also in that 2nd show Ted started running around..the 1st w/Aerosmith he just stood and played...success changed him and sadly his music. Hope you are well Rob.
