Derek the Golden Retriever - 3 Weeks Residential Dog Training

Derek the golden retriever is heading home after his 3 week residential training stay with his trainer.
Derek is 11 months old in the peak of adolescence which was causing him to be a bit of a handful!
Derek is showing very hormonally driven behaviours which will require ongoing management however his owners now have the tools to get them through this tricky time so that Derek doesn’t practise any unwanted behaviour and will put them in great stead for the future with him.
Derek is very dog focused and enjoys annoying other dogs to get a reaction out of them which could get him in trouble! However, now we have put in place much more control around these distractions and increased his food motivation so he’s enjoying working for his handler.
We’ve worked heavily on his recall with and without a whistle, heel, down and a send to bed command to be able to control him around other dogs and visitors in the home.
