“S” is sport mode, and it will shift auto there too…. Once you manually shift it sticks in manual unless you stop or press and hold the upshift paddle. The shift points are MUCH better in auto down in sport mode. Put it in S. Select your gear 2/3 then when you punch it pull and hold upshift paddle for the first shift. Do it at 7k maybe slightly less. Roll racing isn’t ideal in these, until you get used to it and you will!

Pretty sure you can get a tune to where you won’t have to do the S to D and instead when in D it you can shift down and it will hold the gear until you go WOT and hit limiter into the next. I had a 2018 fbo ported CJ with comp cams a few years ago and was told this but never got it done before I sold it.

Easy step by step for racing a 10 speed: Put the car in drag strip (my favorite) or track mode. Put shifter in S, Shift to the proper gear with the paddles, hit it and put it back in drive, simple as that. Never use paddles to roll race.

While in drive, hold the downshift paddle for a sec or 2 and it will downshift to lowest gear depending on rpm and speed. After that, Smash that bish and hold on! Keep ‘em coming my G💪🏿💯🤙🏿

I daily drive a 21 GT 10 speed. If you have your stick all the way down, it will stay in the gear once you start using your paddles. It will never time out. Sit at 40 or 50 in 2nd then close to 7000rpm shift to 3rd. You will only have to shift up once up to 100mph. 2nd to 3rd.

And yes, if you have it in D and are in sport + or track going into S will only change to paddle shift only once you press a paddle. From normal mode in D moving down to S will put it basically in sport + mode and once you press a paddle it will be manual only. Also it will still downshift at low rpm in manual mode but will not upshift for you

Put the gear lever into S for sport then pull the left pedal towards you to lock it in and you will see two images on the side of the gear you are in. Then you can use your toggle button to choose whatever Mode you want to put it into. Best one is super sport or track and if you want to disengage your traction control just lift the traction control button up for a two or three seconds and if you want to disengage every other safety feature to do with the drivetrain hold the traction control button up for at least five seconds and it will come up and tell you that everything is off. By the way make sure you are sitting properly so you can see properly all around you which means not slouching backwards and your arms must be bent at 90° and at positions Nine and three just in case if the airbag goes off it won’t hit your arms and throw them into your face. But sit up don’t slouch

You have to tap it like wet paint. only way it works for me. New sub here. I put it in selective gearing to roll at 40 in second gear for a 4-5 k launch, then I tap it like wet paint into drive while in sport mode/track.

the easiest and best way to race these 10 speeds is you put it in drag mode and put the shifter on "S". select the proper gear, as soon as you hit it put it back to drive. easy and fast.

Or hold the up shift for 1.5 seconds to re-engage auto shift even if in S. So as you hit it, leave both hands on wheel and try that.

I don't think that I ever drove my 10spd in D and always in Sport. You can drive in S mode still letting the trans do the shifting or you can engage the paddles. Put it in S and engage drag mode like everyone has been doing since 2018 when the 10spd came out, or if you want to hold a gear, do the same but engage the paddles and shift it yourself.

Hey Derek... been following you for quite sometime now nice purchase on the S550! I have a 2019 mustang GT PP1 10 speed auto here’s some stuff I’ve done to mine to achieve 462 rwhp.. CAI.. bigger throttle body.. kooks long tubes green catted.. full borla S-type exhaust & retune.. plus I put ford performance lowering springs it’s only a 3/4 drop but I have mange-ride go any lower then you have to start shelling out more $ for caster camber plates etc. but I think my 5.0 sits perfect.. did steeda vertical links... IRS subframe bushing support... and I did another one basically the same thing jake has done to his. I have 19x10 SVE’s up front wrapped in the nitto 275/35/19 & out back 19x11 SVE’s wrapped in 305/35/19 nitto she hooks up its a beast!!! Sorry for such a long comment... hope this helps you & good luck on your build! 👍

If you leave it in S it will shift at the top RPM for you. The difference is in D it short shifts for you, but in S it lets you rev it out and downshift more aggressively.

You have to be in manual mode (S on shifter) then paddle to desired gear (drag or sport plus mode) which gives I guess 4000 rpm floor it and immediately push selector to D and hold on. I tried paddle shifting to desired gear in D mode thinking when I hit it it will shift but there is delay of say 10 seconds before it goes into automode so in a roll race if you do this it won't shift in time and you will hit the limiter.

Listen man. All you have to do is keep it on. Drive and when the time hits. Down shift to the gear you want but remember it goes back to auto after a period of seconds. That way once you engage throttle it shifts auto anyway. Some cars dont

You gotta make sure the gear shifter is put in sport mode. If the shifts stays in D it will shift itself while you are trying to use the paddle shifters

9:07 That's why I don't like automatics. But you should be able to solve those issues with a tune. I'm not throwin shade I know you got this so it's easier to do what you need to do for the channel. When it goes on s. The down shift rev match and gears stay in longer. Its deff more sporty because base gt only has that option. They dont have track or sport plus or snow wet modes. All they have is sport. Trust me i own 16 auto gt premium

Driving an auto you have to manually shift down to second and slap it Into drive close to redline also make sure you turn off advanced traction otherwise when you put it in drive it’ll cut power and shift a little early
