I was 26 years old when I first got saved and when I first fast in my life… I didn’t have a rulebook, I didn’t follow this law or that law… I just knew I wanted my parents to be saved and to know Jesus Christ also, so I wanted to fast for them… I did a complete fast just water… I did this for almost a week… And my parents were wondering why I wasn’t eating… Because at that time I still was living at home… Around the end of the fast… I was driving my car one day and I can’t explain it but I felt a cool breeze blowing on my face, it wasn’t a hot day… So I didn’t know where that cool breeze was coming from… The windows in my car were also not down… The air conditioner was not on… As I pondered Where The cool breeze was coming from I suddenly heard a small soft voice say the wind blows and you do not know where it goes or comes from… So it is with the Holy Spirit and with that my whole body lit up like a Christmas tree. I felt the presence of the Lord for the first time in my car as I was driving… I had to pull over I was crying… I heard a small voice literally was coming out of my heart saying I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, and I actually said “please stop my heart feels like it’s going to pop”… And then I heard a small soft voice say your parents are going to be saved… And with that the presence was gone. I believe I had this experience because well I guess the Lord knows I need it to be told that I was loved… I won’t go into that. But also I fasted And God honored that fast. 15 years later both my parents received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. I am now 64 years old, I have seen many things before my eyes that God has done… God bless

What a wonderful testimony. I’m teaching myself to fast. I know it’s very important because of Derek Prince’s teaching. I’ve only fasted a full day though, or I will eat just one meal at dinner. I hope to do more. It’s weird to say but I do enjoy disciplining my body and spirit through fasting.

One big milestone is after 70-75 hours when you have cravings almost on a piece of concrete. 😆 But then just drink alot of water, ask The Holy Ghost for lifeforce and move along. Holy spirit used to wake me up in the a.m, I just knew it was Him, as there was no fear and just calmness, I used to get up on this prompting and read my bible an pray. I stopped listening and speaking to Holy spirit and I failed to be sensitive to HIM again. I must repent for letting life go before Him. I want Him to be my best friend my confidant. He is my Lord

Same. He calls us 'friend' when he wakes us up and uses us to pray. It's a good thing. Back to reading the Word and glorifying Jesus then :) and the Spirit of God will have Lordship :)

Please let's try to change that, I believe it's the devils way of making Christian ashamed of proclaiming the name of our LORD JESUS, I was also tempted to do the same at some point, but then it's the devil's work. The Holy Spirit communicates with our spirit. We do not hear voices in our heads or minds. God The Holy Spirit communicates to us through our spirit. This is what we call ‘The leading of The Spirit’. There is extremely heavy deceptions. I have learned the hard and difficult way that this is very true.

@@angiemauro608 the Holy Spirit communicates with us in many ways. It’s nonrestrictive. Whether it’s audible, spiritual or visual. A good way to use discernment is to know the Holy Spirit is gentle, it’s love, it’s kind, it’s peaceful. It will not instruct you to bring harm or partake in arguments. It if makes you confused it’s not God. If you are unsure ask him to confirm and usually will through a living person. God bless ❤️

Thanks. I took a beginner Bible class, and they said the Spirit was a power, not a person. I grew up Catholic, and they always said God is Father, Son, Spirit, three person's in one. I wish I could know the (Greek?) pronoun that is used for "Him" in the Bible. I wish I could have proved it to them. But I guess if they are hungry for the Spirit, they will keep praying.

But to say the Holy Spirit IS our conscience, would mean that we have had it since birth and don’t need Christ which isn’t true. Richard, I pray you are in the Word and walk in the light. It takes effort to deny the Holy Spirit, and many think they have done this sin when under analysis, they haven’t. I hope we look at every one of our sins, and recognize our need to love, forgive and serve as Christ has shown.

I can go to God and ask him what to do, too. In the Gospel, the widow who is owed money goes to the judge to get her money back. We can go to God to ask him to try our case. Every time I try to do it on my own power, I do it wrong. I go to God present my case and listen.

No birds...It is not understood who the "Holy Spirit" aka "Spirit of God" is, He is not a third God-person. In the baptismal formula He is "distinct" from the Father but He is NOT a "distinct PERSON" from the Father. An example to explain it is given by the miracle of the BILOCATION of St. Anthony. He was in Italy, but in his miracles he was able to be present at the same time also in Portugal and to INTERACT with the people there. NOBODY was actually in Portugal, this means that the presence of St.Anthony corresponded to the PRESENCE OF A SPIRIT THERE: the spirit of St. Anthony. In the bilocations 1. only ONE St. Anthony existed and 2. his spirit distinct from him was elsewhere. The same occurs also with 1. the FATHER and 2. the SPIRIT OF THE FATHER: they are just ONE PERSON. The Father is NOT in a separate SPATIAL location though, He is in a different TEMPORAL location: before the world was born. "The world has not known you". "...you loved me before the world was born...". This is why "No man has seen God at any time.", INVISIBILITY is not an issue. The Father is in that DISTANT TEMPORAL LOCATION and his spirit - the Spirit of the Father - is here instead. From that past God is able to reach to us in his future. This means that THE HOLY SPIRIT INSIDE JESUS WHO HELPS HIM IS NOT THE PARACLETE, HE IS THE SPIRIT OF THE FATHER (see the gospels, numerous passages where He helps the Son). Indeed "God is a spirit", but the Father is God, this means that the Father is a spirit here. The Father who is a spirit is called the Holy Spirit by Jesus. Both the Father and the Spirit of the Father (the Holy Spirit) are mentioned in the baptismal formula.

Is the Spirit of God the Holy Spirit? Genesis 1:2 water, materials as the universe and the Spirit of God, before the creation story. Lucifer in Heaven yet Satan in the garden of Eden. Time pasted. Genesis 1:28 KJV replenish the earth. Jesus opened the communication from Heaven to flesh. That would include the angels the Father allowed. As Jesus said that he never lot one the Father allowed. God made all the angels, everything in the universe and the Spirit world. He has absolute power over everything. I think the figure is that 2/3 of the angels chose evil, so they fell from heaven. Satan/Lucifer did not create anything, let alone himself. The angels who did not fall, do the Father's will night and day.
