@autumn58524 жыл бұрын
@@andthanksforwatching you said you found it - I was just wondering what you had found 🤷♀️ actually, reading it again I can see now that you probably meant that ‘it’ is your dream apartment, I was just thinking maybe you had found a lost sock or something 😝 - I’m autistic so my facility of processing information is different from that of neurotypical people. For example, I’m at a park now and a sign says ‘fishing for disabled’ but I can’t see any disabled people in the lake waiting to be fished 🤷♀️ so the sign doesn’t make sense to me

I wish we knew more about the costs involved -- how much the original space cost, and how much to renovate. For all of us who dream of doing this, it would be very useful.
@Big_Man__4 жыл бұрын
Every project is different. The location of the property will drastically change the cost. The amount you put in to refurbish relies heavily on the prior condition and the materials and furniture to turn the space into a livable one is dependent on your patience and craftiness. TL;DR = It's completely variable. Do your research.

@@tomedward8652 As a local I'm guessing, way, way less. The owner bought well in an up and coming (but still affordable) neighborhood, plus he's a construction insider. Way less. Yet the results are stunning.

Might be less than 1.5mill but looking at prices they are around 5000 euros a sqm. From the aerial view the property looks to be between 150 and 200sqm. The fixtures and fittings will still be expensive even at wholesale prices. So I would still argue over a million - especially as you pay a premium for roof space.

Ingenious. The lounge area is an example of what you can do. I note a further terrace area that’s cordoned off. Probably retained by the seller for access to the roof, but I can’t understand why. There’s no utilities that require access. It would have been nice to have that space for something like a glass roofed bedroom or an office. Nice video, thanks 🙏

I love this....just love it. Being a city guy myself, this place would be an amazing way to live in the city. I like the way they opened up the space, I like the huge terrace area, all the plants, all of the light, all of the big window/doors...just amazing. My practical side points out that this must be very expensive. This is not a "do it yourself, fix it all up creatively with recycled, upcycled, salvaged materials" kind of space. And although he pointed out that that part of the city used to be "industrial", old neighborhoods of cities, that go from "industrial" to "residential" tend to become somewhat pricey neighborhoods. But the practical aside, however, I love it and I would live there. If I did live there, though, my main concern would probably be leaving those big door/windows open, especially if I had to leave the room. I would be worried about "nature" coming in for a visit....mostly birds, insects, maybe bats....it is probably too high up for squirrels. But I would still live there....I would probably just be opening and closing those window/doors a lot. It's an amazing space.....thanks for the video.

Creative use of space. The antithesis of ostentatious. The area before the renovation reminds me of my years in Mexico. Many rooftops had multiple “drying rooms” for the apartment tenants below; basically walls with no roof and clothes lines so the sun could dry the clothes. Often times the people that maintained the building, such as gardeners or maids would convert them to living quarters and bring in there families to live there also. Was a large area, often never used because most of us would just by dryers and stick them on our balconies or somewhere else in the apartment.

The String shelf system was designed by Nils and Kajsa Strinning in 1949 and for more than 20 years it was one of the most popular pieces of furniture in Swedish homes due to its price, very easy to produce and ship and when the shelves got full you only needed to buy more shelves and one side piece. Around 15 years ago they started producing again, but now they are sadly pretty expensive... still very good looking though
