This was actually a really simple and easy derivation. Nice. I wish I had payed more attention in my geometry classes. For some reason geometrical derivations are challenging to me. Intuitively I understand what is being done, but I just have trouble with the mathematics itself.

Better than most and to the point geometric derivation using similar triangles. He does equate subtended arc with subtended chord by using limit angle theta which many presenters don't.

You can also explain it by v times ∆t being the same as displacement ∆d, which is always a straight line and never curvy.

cheating. You cannot equate such triangles because v is not a length. Moreover, if you say v1 = v2 and we call it v, in the same breath you say delta_v exists, Wrong.

When v1 and V2 are same how will be delta v ?? It should be zero.....if not why you have considered isosceles triangle ration equal
@xmtutor
@xmtutor 3 жыл бұрын
v1 and v2 are equal in magnitude but different in direction. Because they are different in direction, v1 does not subtract v2 away completely. The difference is delta v, which is represented by the third side of the isosceles triangle.

I don't understand why is the angle between v1 & v2 theta ?
@antigravity9222
@antigravity9222 3 жыл бұрын
At 0:53, he said because v1 is r1 rotated by 90 degrees, and v2 is r2 rotated by 90 degrees. So v1 and v2 form the same angle that r1 and r2 form.
