I'm a hairdresser and have been one for over 27 years now. I'm here to tell you that these are the absolute worst, hands down. It's the people that have glass hair that you get them from the most. They have a thicker cuticle that is super silky. It literally just slides into your skin. Then it starts to throb. 😱

I had several in my hand one time from a client who had super super coarse hair. We did a trim and a marula oil treatment on her hair and then a beautiful blowout. But man those hair splinters hurt soooo badly I had several.

Yup, that's a hair splinter alright. I have 2 big dogs and one tiny tiny Chihuahua, I walk barefooted in my home all the time. So I can confirm that they do hurt when you get one in your foot. I always feel it the moment it happens. I'm not sure why someone would let it stay long enough to where it will bury itself that deep to where it will start to look like that and/or in need someone to remove it. If you insist on being barefoot, just make sure you keep the floors clean and WASH YOUR FEET PEOPLE!!!😂

I get these all the time. I have 12 cats and 2 dogs currently and hate shoes! I sweep daily but hair happens. These splinters give me an allergic reaction (my cats) so I have a hard time getting them out. But it always feels amazing when they pop free. 😂

@@sallalone3580 yep! I adopted two females to keep them from being out down. One had cancer and was dying. The other was pregnant. She gave me 7 babies. Her daughter was scheduled for a spay and was too far along in her pregnancy to terminate safely. So I have 12. I'm looking for loving forever homes but people in my area tend to hate cats. I won't let them go to someone that will neglect, abuse or throw them away. I'll probably have 12 for 15 years. 💁😬❤️❤️❤️

I e been a pet groomer for years and I have had them in my feet because they get in through my tennis shoes. I have had them in my hands. I have had them in my breasts omgosh let me just tell you how bad the breast ones hurt!! hair splinters are no joke. I think they hurt 100,000 times worse than a wood splinter and they’re so fine and thin. It’s hard to see them but they are extremely painful especially when you get them underneath your nail between the nail and the nail bed ugh!!
