You are a godsend. I’m 75, Hawaii sansei, who is “reaping” the double whammy of sunny beaches with the reckless abandon of youth and now, old age skin issues. Never been vain, don’t use makeup, but self-conscious of people looking at the dark “donuts and wheels,” as well as the age spots on my face. It’s distracting when I’m speaking to others to see their eyes perusing my skin. I’ve tried all the usual OTC products with no changes except to make the spots look darker because the skin around has been lightened; but at least my skin texture is soft. For example, lets say a morning routine consists of SA Cleanser, Vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid Serum , Moisturiser, Sun Screenn At Night a Glycolic Acid Cleanser, Hyaluronic Acid Serum, Retinol, Squalene Moisturiser, Face Oil. I have read articles, blog posts etc on Dermatologists views of the application of products such as natural or plastic loofah's, back scrubbers etc, where they don't recommend them, stating they are breeding grounds of bacteria and can over exfoliate the skin. However they often do not give any good alternatives, stating to just apply product using your hands, some some use washing cloths however others says don't use washing cloths as they too can cause 'sandpaper'' like damage to the skin and introduct bacteria to the skin. Would a 100% silicon body shower scrub mitt/brushes, etc be ok, etc.. This would be a great topic as there are those people out there who require some type of cloth, back washer, etc due to being overweight, having a physical disability, unable to wash their own back due to flexibility issues, etc, so what alternative do these people have , etc..?

This is a juicy topic for me since out of all the products in the brand, this one has been the least reliable for hyperpigmentation. I will sometimes suggest this as a last resort to patients who can’t tolerate hydroquinone or retinoids as this is gentler but it is not consistently effective tbh.

So my question would be and I’m specifically saying this about myself who has been using Skinbetter for a few months but has been doing Retinol for a while in general but my question is - would using the Advanced alto both day and night but pairing it with the alpharet at night with moisturizer but am I wasting the product (alto) in a sense by using it 2X a day? @@annatran959 I use alpha ret clearing serum (retinol serum) and the alto advanced defense and repair serum (the vitamin c serum). I also use eventone serum, trio moisturizer, and both the cleansers all from skin better. The vitamin c serum doesn’t smell bad or like turmeric though!

Melasma is quite stubborn but these products could definitely be a part of your regimen to battle Melasma. Combination therapy guided by your dermatologist is always best. The lip is tricky since it can be a sensitive area and some products can irritate the skin there.
