Question for Dr. Dray: Context: I have Rosacea and Seborrheic Dermatitis, and was prescribed Metronidazole gel and Ketoconazole cream (as well as shampoo). I use Eucerin Redness Relief cleanser, which works well for both conditions (it even seems to mitigate against SD flare-ups when I'm consistent with it). Here's what I'm hoping to learn: After cleansing, should I first apply the medications, or the moisturizer? Should I wait some time between the two? Also, I have to use both medications on my nose and chin -- can they be applied simultaneously, or must I space them out? Thanks: Many, many!

Dr. Dray, Several days ago purchased the Procure Rosacare at CVS. I have been having a problem with dry eye and my rosacea. The dry eye regimen was irritating my skin around the eyes...the regimen contained tree tea oil. I began to use the Rosacare and I cannot tell you what a relief it has been for me. I've battled with Rosacea for 10 + years and I finally found a routine that works for me. I figured out salicylic acid works really great on my Rosacea. I have a few broken capillaries on my cheeks, but my main problem was this butterfly shaped redness on my cheeks and chin. I've been using CeraVe Renewing SA Cleanser, Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion (it's the only lotion I've tried so far that actually moisturizes my skin enough), Eucerin Daily Protection SPF 30, Clinique Even Better Foundation, and Eucerin Redness Relief night cream. The redness has almost completely disappeared, my cheeks are still a little rosy where the broken capillaries are. I think the salicylic acid is what saved my skin, because I've tried so many different products including the lotions I listed above before and nothing change till I tried a cleanser with salicylic acid in it. By the way, I started the cleanser, SPF, and redness relief cream from watching your videos. Thank you for helping me find a routine that works.

Hello Joanne... what salicylic acid do you have and how do you use it and at what time. Thank you for your input.
@joanne16265 жыл бұрын
@@adrianafranklin7811 I use the CeraVe Renewing SA Cleanser (it has salicylic acid in it). It does an excellent job removing my makeup and has really cleared up the redness. I did break out a bit when I first started using it but I kept using it because a dermatologist once told me when trying a new product it can take up to 3 months to see improvements. I really believe it's the salicylic acid that cleared up the redness because I've tried so many different cleansers in the past without it and nothing worked. I hope that was helpful. 😊 Oh and I forgot to mention, I only wash my face with it at night to remove the makeup.

@@adrianafranklin7811 You're welcome, I bought mine off of Amazon because Walmart was out of it last I checked. I think you can use any cleanser though as long as it has the salicylic acid in it, depending on if you have dry or oily skin. I had a hard time finding one that was fragrance free, I found out about the CeraVe SA Cleanser from watching one of Dr. Drays videos and was pleased it didn't say fragrance in the ingredients. It's also not as drying as other cleansers I've tried.

Hi Dr. Dray! 💛 It’s so funny how everyone has different skin needs and how different ingredients effect different skin. You are so correct! I have slight pink cheek rosacea, and I tried the Eucerin redness relief - it was too occlusive for me. However I love the Eucerin redness relief face cleansing gel! 🤦🏼♀️ Also I love the Procure Rosacare but that was not moisturizing enough 😂 so I mix a pump or two of that with my fav Neutrogena Oil Free Moisture for Sensitive Skin 1 pump. PERFECT 👌 for me! I get licorice root in the Eucerin wash and the Rosacare and niacinamides and hyaluronic acid Plus my perfect amount of moisture for my skin with the Neutrogena oil free moisturizer-non occlusive. Whew 😅 Also CeraVe stung my face so I’m one of those people who can’t do CeraVe 🤷🏼♀️😂 Dr. Dray I can’t thank you enough for helping me find my perfect routine ! I never knew I had to moisturize my oily skin! Now my skin is less oily ...and looks so much better and I feel wonderful! You are an angel!!

Unfortunately, this product really made my skin/rosacea even more dry and flakely. Hope it works for others.

Had rosacea for about 4 years now - less is more people! I just use a moisturiser and a cleanser, but not every day as sometimes I just wash my face with water to give it a break.. Using the Avene cleanser currently, and it is just fine. I have medicinal cream for the night but only when necessary. Serums irritate me so muuuuch so nothing I can do there.

Thanks for another awesomely informative video. Between the LaRoche Posay Niacinamide lotion and the DRMTLGY sunscreen I’m using, my skin has never looked better. Even the little “pimples” & texture I could never get rid of are gone. I’m still using the .025% tretinoin but only every 4th day to protect my skin barrier better. I’ve learned so much from you over the years. ❤️

@Dr. Dray!!!! Please make a video on neurogenic rosacea. The traditional rosacea treatment didn’t work on me. I have tremendous amount of burning sensation, extreme flushing, swelling on my face when I get the episodes. These episodes last for hours, occouring almost everyday. When I get an episode, sitting by the AC and place by face really close to it to get the direct air helps it calm down. I always have to have fan or AC so that I don’t get the episodes. It causes me a lot of physical pain as well as emotional. It’s Triggered by heat ( change in temp), stress, super spicy food. If there is an emotional change (anger, embarrassment, happiness, excitement etc) inside of me it feels and shows on my face. If I get of the I have this condition for over 20 yrs. I have been on metronidazole and oral antibiotics and that didn’t help!! Please help me!!

As silly as it sounds, wearing thick socks cooled me down and helped me with my rosacea. I feel like if your legs and feet are well covered, the face cools down. Try 😊

I’ve cut down on using products. I probably still use more than I should but my skin has been so good lately. I stopped using my clarisonic and products with glycolic/salicylic aids. They were destroying my skin.

I hate, hate, hate that the FDA is so lax when it comes to skin products and health products relating to the skin and face in general. It makes our job as consumers that much tougher.

Love your videos woow I use a sunscreen with hyaluronic acid , good to know I too have rosasea. Would tea tree oil treatments be recommended? Or charcoal mask and tonic to reduce pores, I think it's always good to hydrate the skin with a good moisturizer. Thanks 😊 🙏

I recently found out that I am very sensitive to Niacinamide. Everytime I used anything with Niacinamide, my skin would get red, irritated and breakout, which is a huge bummer since it's in literally everything nowadays.

What are some great face masks for rosacea? I know less is more, but it’s nice to put a mask on and just relax! It would be great to find someone that don’t irritate!

Happy Monday! Thank you for the list of ingredients to avoid! That's a great idea. We can write it down on paper and keep it in our wallet. It will be easier to make a choice. Because even if I don't have this rosacea problem, I have to avoid anything that could increase my allergy. Thank you
