Three months ago I lost my soulmate, the love of my life. She was the best person in the world. She battled depression for two years... her family didn't understand her and were so cruel with her, with us. She ended up hating them, she never had hated anyone... She tried to put limits to those voices but they were coming back again and again. Despite the warnings from the psychologist, they didn't stop. My love had to fly to be in peace. Now she is my star. She was always so proud of me, she was always showing gratitude for being with her and saying I was so strong for being there despite her family and all... but she was the reason I was happy, just a smile could make me happy, just her voice, her love... We used to listen Dermot Kennedy when we were living there in Dublin, in Stillorgan. We were amazed that he could jump from busker to top singer. It was totally deserved because his voice and his lyrics are incredible. We listened this song so many times and we went to some places where the video is filmed... I couldn't listen these songs until now... it's so hard, so many memories and now this lyrics... hit different. Dublin was the best experience in our lives. Great culture, great people, everything was great except the weather but didn't matter. 4 incredible years, until covid changed our plans and we came back to Spain. She always loved Ireland and even wanted to come back to escape from them... I wish I could have come back with her to Ireland and walk around Glendalough one more time, ride around Dun Laoghaire, play tennis in Stillorgan, have a pint in Temple Bar... I miss everything... She was everything. I love you Marta ❤🩹✨ I miss you so much. I can't stop crying...

The feeling of finding “the one” is maybe the most powerful feeling in the world. The intensity of it is enough to drive almost every decision you make. It is why people enter long distance relationships with confidence, and with all odds against them, survive them. It is the feeling, strong as ever, that keeps love alive when distance separates it. Dermot Kennedy’s latest track “Outnumbered” captures the feeling of knowing that fighting for the one you love, even when distance separates you, is worth it.

This album came out when my heart broke. This song found me when the darkness was so strong, light was lost. His lyrics and emotion in every song made me cry but saved my life. I listen to the cd still and even now it brings me back to my past and I cry. Not because it hurts still...but because I came out on the other side. Thank you Dermot for vocalizing what I couldn't. For saving me when I didn't want to be saved. For being a friend when I was alone. But most of all, thank you for sharing your pain so mine could heal! Forever grateful for you! ❤ Sam

I accidentally stumbled on Dermot Kennedy (this song in fact) one day scrolling through my Spotify. That particular day I was ready for God to punch me ticket. 9mm loaded and ready on the table I was just looking for that last song to take with me. I didn't even mean to play the song just accidentally tapped instead of scrolled. This song and the words and so many more of his work saved my life. I crumbled when I heard this song. I sobbed and looked at the pictures on my walls of my friends and family and the words in this song echoed through every part of my existence. Thank you Mr. Kennedy for helping me find that strength to fight on. The music you produce helped me push myself to get sober, be a better father, a better spouse, and most importantly a better man to myself. Thank you. From the bottom of my heart and the depths of my soul.

I’m still struggling with mental health issues, relationship issues, self esteem issues. I still feel disconnected, but you give me hope through the way you describe emotions. Being sexually abused as a child for the majority of my younger years not only scarred but broke me. This is not the place to go into detail but your words are a safe haven for me.
