Man, I really do hope he becomes NBA's most improved player for 2017. As a die hard Arizona Wildcat fan it sucked to see him go early. The season after he left we ended up in the NIT, not an embarrassment, but definitely not normal for a team that went to every single NCAA tournament for nearly 30 years, except for one year: 2010. What was embarrassing was losing in the first round of the NIT at home. With Williams, and if Momo came back (him leaving hurt us equally), we would have gone deep in the tourney. Especially with Nick Johnson joining the team that season. What sucks more than William's departure is his status as a bust. It makes it seem pointless to have left early. I knew he wouldn't do well defensively and thought at least one more year with Sean Miller focusing on that end would have him go number one in the following draft and have a better career. I really do hope this season that all changes but seeing as his numbers aren't great in the preseason I'm not about to hold my breath. He's just not consistent. He seems to be better defensively at least. That's something. One way or the other it doesn't affect my life, just letting this off my chest as a fan of Arizona and of his.

I'm so sick of my Knicks not keeping young talent. this kid is a baller keep D Will and KP as our future and I would play him at the 3 or 4 along side Mello and KP at the 5. I love Rolo but if I could trad him for a guard that could spread the floor and keep Grant and Wroten I truly believe that Jeff Hornacheck could make this team a top 5 team in the east. you might just be happy with how this young hungry team will play fast and efficient this season. I thought coaching killed us last season and the league is going small so I love this line up PG Grant or Wroten SG Bazmore SF Derrick Williams PF Mello and C KP. a truly young fast existing group that I believe will cause some problems in the east. not close to the great cavs but up and coming and you never know what we may be able to do.
@MasonTalks7 жыл бұрын
I'll be honest idk why the Cavs signed him, he's not a rim protector, he's not a backup point guard, I think we need those 2 things more than we needed Derrick Williams.
@PassFirstDom7 жыл бұрын
We can still trade Birdman. I agree with you that we maybe need other guys more than him, but let's see, I think he could be a great energizer with his dunks, everyone else except LBJ is just shooting and making layups, if you know what I mean. And still, it's just a 10-day-contract
@ULTRAKOPIA7 жыл бұрын

i think he could fit because he seems passionate in his play and hes pretty athletic and young ... brings energy and adequate defense , i think hes just a little piece to this big puzzle. WE do need a back up point guard to make plays happen .
@KingEZ337 жыл бұрын
This move will be just as big as the Korver move just watch, The NBA is position less now the cavs just got an above the rim versatile athlete who is a extremely energetic and a good slasher.

i will tell you one thing about D will. he is an amazing player to watch, the thing about him is that he takes a bit longer to learn the nuances of the game. it still hasnt clicked for him yet. guys like tony parker took 5+ years to develop. i think he might be one of these guys. there are still quite a few problems with his game that need attention, though. here are a few of them: he needs to be more aware of where he is on the court, needs to be more agressive on a night to night basis on offense and his reaction time on defense is lagging a bit. these are all things i noticed in MIN and SAC. i hope he develops.

I think he can help the Cavs considering Kevin Love is out with a knee surgery, maybe for the rest of the season. I don't think he will offer Loves rebounding, or outside shooting. Yet, it looks like he can add energy off the bench, defensive versatility, and athletic put backs.

He looks like an MVP. It's crazy that a guy with so much skill and ability couldn't find a place. I know his body size is inbetween, he is inconsistent. But there are better 11 and 12 men in the league? One would think some not great team would have brought him in and once a night give him the ball and see what happens. If he is hot, the team is going to score some points. If not, rest him.

Coming from a unbiased Spurs fan, depends. If he can keep the energy going when Lebron takes a seat and RJ needs rest then yes. Currently it's really only Lebron and RJ dunking so he'll bring some much needed energy to the bench. Guess it's good it's only a 10 day.
