She grew up listening to a lot of punk rock and pop rock. Her parents were big rock fans and often took her to rock concerts as a kid so she’s said that some of the songs on her upcoming album are rock and are inspired by her childhood and pay tribute to her parents.

i was totally with you when you said this should’ve been the second single after drivers license but i think i know why they chose that route. good4u is a promo single leading up to her album, and i think if they did this with déjà vu the hype would not have measured up. you should see the outpouring praise this song is getting and people are HYPED for her album. i think it was a marketing move in general, but for sure this song would dominate the charts and i’m sad they’re not promoting it to radio.

Actually, others have done something where they originally released songs as promotional singles, but became full-fledged singles immediately after the amount of press and praise they have gotten. ...Ready For It? by Taylor, telepatia by Kali Uchis (she originally wasn't planning on this being a huge single, but a gift to the fans), and Confetti by Little Mix in the UK are the ones that stand out to me in today's hit music scene.

I'm a grandma. My granddaughters are 12 and 9 and I turn the station to top 40 for them when i Pick them up. I've heard this song many times and I love it. She has a ton of talent and this song is just perfect for an old punker from the 80s. I've heard her song Traitor and while I am not a ballad person it does have a kick and I love that as well. This girl is amazing.
