I live near Frisco bro. Sounds like it’s more of your vibe. There are bars, cigar lounges, speakeasies, good restaurants too. The thing is for you, you have to figure out how you want to move. Personally, you don’t have to live in the “scene” to be apart of it the “scene”. I’m at a point in my life where peace is more important and I can determine how much of the “scene” I want to indulge in. That’s why being in this area is perfect for me. Your necessities are in close proximity to you and it’s clean. DFW is huge so don’t let 45 mins scare you into not enjoying yourself. That will become normal to you in a few months. Good place to network, find mentorship and continue to grow while still prioritizing your peace.

I moved to Dallas from the MW so I can truly relate and understand you on the weather, heat, snow, and culture. I am an empath/introvert and don’t do the clubs like that. There are some nice low key places that have the calm, cool, and collective vibe/ambiance. Try Addison, Las Colinas-Irving, areas around the Galleria Mall (Dallas), and maybe Richardson. These areas are not as far as Frisco, they may have available Penthouses to look at. Also they are within 30 mins or so from downtown. I see that you are a man of God, I decree and declare that God will lead you to your NEW NEXT chapter in life (location)! You will know, TRUST your intuition! Continued prayers and blessings to you! 🙏🏽🙌🏽💫🙌🏽🙏🏽

I live in Dallas. I own my home but man $4k-5k for rent is absolutely crazy to me for Dallas. Guess because I moved from Michigan and have been here over 7 years. I’ve seen when rent was so much cheaper. Since owning a home for way less I don’t think I could ever get myself around to paying that much for rent.

If you truly don't like the heat, it may be best to avoid Texas! Have you considered North Carolina? They have the four seasons but the winters are mild with very little snow. Charlotte and Raleigh may be good areas for you to check out. There's a lot of new construction including high rises.

I’m originally from Detroit ❤, but I’m a true Texan. Once you have lived here a year you’ll get use to the heat. Plus we don’t go outside to workout 🏋️‍♀️ or party outside when it’s that hot. That’s crazy lol. Don’t go to Houston. Weather is trash and it’s hood or fake boogie and it’s HUMID. I’m a home owner in the DFW. I would suggest Addison, Farmers Branch, Las Colinas, Frisco,Plano. Also Pro tip limit your outside exposure to walking to the house from the car and back again during these hell hot days. Make sure you get a garage too if you stay here. Nothing worse then getting in a hot car.

If you live in the Uptown area you are accessible to so many different highways that can take anywhere within a 30 minute drive. Dallas restaurant scene is always changing and amazing food scenery.

Born and raised in Dallas. I'm in Little Elm now and it's slow and family oriented and I love it. Dallas does the most. I love my city, but at 45 years old, with young children, I don't regret the move. It's 100 degrees today, the sun is sunning, and that Texas blaze doesn't play. But best of luck to you, and if you decide to get down this way, Howdy. be safe and welcome!

The cowboys practice there and we’re going to the Super Bowl this year so.. 😅 There’s also Legacy West in Plano that is super chill. It’s across the highway from Frisco. The sun is most definitely a different breed in Texas but you can’t beat the sunsets 😉

Frisco is very suburban and conservative. It’s an extremely nice area with a bunch of restaurants. It’s more of a very family friendly area though in my opinion. A lot of Dallas Cowboys live out in that area (and more higher earners period) and that’s why it is so expensive. Yes, it’s hot in Dallas but its only for 3 months. It’s nice and pleasant otherwise. It might snow once (an inch or two) the entire winter.

Frisco, Plano, Denton all have chill vibes and have there own areas to go out in so you wouldn't have to go too far. Dallas has chill spots too , and probably the easiest access for basketball (American Airlines center). The rangers and Coeboys stadiums are both in Arlington so either option is about a similar distance away The heat is rough for 3 months but you trade that for 9 months of solid weather. Houston weather would be ROUGH if you dont like Dallas

It is pricey because there are a lot of wealthy people that live there. I am originally from New York but I have lived in Houston, south Florida and Dallas. Dallas is the best I would say for storm related type situations. Everything passes over Dallas or under dallas. Dallas is a dry heat Florida Miami Houston is a humid moist heat, but it’s still hot. That was a cool off. This is the first time that we’ve been really hot last time we were not this hot. There’s a lot of places to go in Dallas just have to find them if partying is not your thing but they’re here. Dallas has a lot going for it.

I live in Plano. From what I've heard, Houston is worse in terms of heat and traffic than the Dallas area. I was born and raised in the midwest, but moved to the south in 1993. If you move to the south, you will have to adjust to the heat. It's typically hotter and for a longer time than we've ever experienced in the midwest. If you like trails, we have plenty of them in Plano. The parks are the best of any city I've ever lived. Wherever you move, you have to find your tribe. That will help with making the adjustment.

I've lived in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for about three years, enjoyed my time there, and I wanted to share my thoughts. Honestly, I think you should pass on Dallas. First off, I'm a fan of experiencing all four seasons, but I found Dallas weather a bit too extreme for my taste. The summers, in particular, can be brutally hot, which made enjoying outdoor activities like the Katy Trail tough for most of the year. I'm not much of a club person, but I did discover some nice chilled lounges that were more my speed. However, after a while, I found the overall scene started to feel a bit monotonous. My social life was great. I lived in the Galleria area, but got so tired of driving all over the metroplex going to events and stuff. Second, what did it for me (and I moved) was concluding that the cost of luxury rentals didn't seem justified by what the city offers. I have no desire to own a home again. And even if I did the property taxes in Dallas would have been a deal breaker. Like you, I'm a luxury person too. I felt like I was paying more than the city was worth.I ultimately decided that it wasn't worth paying East or West coast prices to have a Texas experience. Overall, while Dallas has its perks, it might not be the best fit if you're looking for diverse weather, a vibrant and varied social scene, or value for money in terms of luxury living. Look into San Diego, maybe Fort Lauderdale, or someplace in Virginia. I think East or West coast would be more to your liking. Listen to your intuition, it's trying to tell you thumbs down on Dallas. I would not even waste time looking at Houston, but thats' just me. It's not that impressive honestly. No offense to the TX folks.

I agree and as person born and raised in Dallas. I can say that it way more expensive thats because Texas in general wants to be like Cali, Washington, new York and with a little mix of ancient time vibe. So point im making is this that dallas is not the place you wanna live. Majority of people here are super rude and stuck up as hell. Half of them are from others places coming here down with a bad attitude and the ones that are from here they fit right along with them by encouraging higher prices, poor food/customer and just straight lying to deceive more people to come here by making lives harder than what it needs to be. Trust me I been here long enough to know what I see with my eyes that it has gotten worse. If anything I thought about moving myself, but we shall see what the future holds.

I visited Dallas for 3 weeks before the pandemic then went back to the east coast and the I moved there 4 months later to Richardson then Frisco. These areas are the ones my friend told me to go to. I’m a cancer too so I don’t like noise. I never went anywhere really except to kickboxing. But I was home and working from home then I got a second job part time but the weather depressed me. A lot of people from up north and the east coast moved to my building and area and it felt like a frat house I wasn’t going to get a third place in Texas so I left the state and went to MN. To be honest I want to say no don’t do it 😂 and I know some will come for me but just because I didn’t have a great experience with both my places and the people doesn’t mean you won’t. I just can’t deal with that weather and weed and paper thin walls and I didn’t have a car which was cool but I tried to make it work for 3 years and I bounced 😂 frisco became way too expensive and Texas drained my pockets and energy. I get there’s no state taxes and the cost of living is decent, depending on where you go but I can’t stand being hot 365 days out of the year. I feel like you have to move to an area where people are quiet because everyone is moving there and unless you get a house, you never know who your neighbors are. Cancers we love our peace and quiet. If you move to an area where people hang out or constant noise and traffic it’s going to bother your nervous system. I ended up in the hospital twice. I couldn’t get any sleep. When I got to MN I was able to relax and it was quiet. I rested for 8 days 😊

When you revisit Florida don’t just hop on i95 or the turnpike (toll) take a drive on A1A from Sunrise Blvd all the way down. It’ll take you out to Federal HWY. Make a left at SW 17th Street. You’ll see a burger king and know you’re going the right way. You’ll be back to A1A for the scenic route. This will take you pass the Fort Lauderdale airport. Keep going and when you get to Dania Beach Blvd make a left then stay in the left lane and only go left it’ll get you to Miami, give you a better feel of south Florida without skipping through everything. It’s beautiful and safe whether it’s day or night

I live in Dallas. Frisco is a real nice, chill, upscale vibe. Low crime rate and you’re not that far from Dallas. So you can pull up to Deep Ellum or Downtown if you want.

I live on the East Coast now, but lived in the DFW about 7 yrs. Travel to the outskirts. I didn't live a party life, but you're in a major city, so that's the difference.

You have some high rises off of 75 just north of downtown, cool spots and eateries over there, or you can try further up off of 635, north dallas tollway and Beltline areas. They have some high rises and some cool chill spots with plenty of eateries in that area. Good luck fellow Michigander.

Frisco and Plano offers high rise apartments and condos by Legacy West and you can travel about 40 mins to Downtown Dallas.

Happy belated Birthday D! 🎉 The heat in TX especially during the summer months is like a furnace piercing your skin I’ve seen it peak at 107 it’s unbearable honestly especially if you’re outside just briskly walking for like 5 mins or outdoor events. Btw - Since you arrived I’ve been visualizing you going on a friendly date w/ Peyton Charles and is in the process of building her first home and can definitely give you insight from her experiences living there as a out of state transplant too. 😉

Further north is very expensive. Frisco is a very expensive city to live in. Plano and Las Colinas is nice.Try Arlington, Mansfield, HEB area and this will be Tarrant county. It’s about 30 minutes from Dallas. Downtown Fort Worth is great as well. The summers are very hot in Texas. Fall, Winter , and Spring are great seasons for Texas.

Check out Las Colinas. I lived there and loved it. Allen is also a nice suburb in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. A little expensive but also enjoyed living there. Happy Birthday. The heat/humidity is worse in Houston but there are some real nice cities in the outskirts: Katy, Spring, The Woodlands, Sugarland. Lots to do in Houston and very diverse.

You should try and check out Las Colinas/Irving or Louisville and Carrollton. I think that would be more your speed and you still be the middle of everything.

Dallas is on my radar as well, so is charlotte NC, the weather is great in charlotte year round and is still on the come up but very low key and great food, definitely a sports town. Hopefully you add Charlotte to your list.

I am a native NYer who has lived in many states but currently in Austin. It is hot but you do get use to it and there is central air, lol. I say all the places you named will work especially if you’re just looking to be there a couple of years. With that said San Diego has great weather year round, I’m sure it’s within your budget and it’s close to many different sports teams. Can’t wait to see which one you choose!

Have you ever considered Charlotte? Our football team sucks but our city is beautiful and we have lots of new high rises! Most are between $3k-$4k. Some people call us a mini Atlanta but to me it’s more relaxed. I love it here.

the frisco area is where a lot of families are, which is likely why it's so expensive. addison is a bit cheaper and still has a lot to do, and is a good location between frisco and downtown dallas. i'd recommend addison (or carrolton as well) to look for apartments. i think addison and carrolton are a lot chiller than dallas, and have more activities to do than just "drinking", like pottery classes, paint and sips, food festivals, flea and art markets, etc etc. houston is worse than dallas when comparing the weather - houston stays humid because they're closer to the gulf. right now they're actually dealing with the aftermaths of a tropical storm and don't have power and haven't for days. i think it's a good place to visit (not in the summer) but living there isn't something i'd personally do.

Consider Charlotte. It’s chilled. Pricing is relatively good. You can live in midtown. Which is their downtown. Have the sports scene. Beautiful women. Good vibes. Wherever you go, consider a single family home. For what you paying, get a zero lot. Nice home on a small lot. Good luck bro.

The Bay is the ish! You have San Francisco & Oakland. The people & vibe can’t beat it. Lots to do. It does get cold but not like Michigan obviously. lol Beautiful & green. I lived in Oakland for years so I loved it. I live in San Diego now & the weather is amazing that’s why it’s crazy expensive to live here. It’s definitely a place you raise kids in. Not teams except Padres. I lived in LA and the Bay so yes San Diego compared not much to do. But close enough to drive LA & 45min flight to the Bay. Hope that helps. Good luck.

I live in prosper now but moved from Chicago to Victory Park downtown Dallas. Great area and some good high rises with city views plus walkable to a restaurant or maybe a spot you can pull up to grab a beverage. Plus you would be close to American Airlines to catch Klay hooping with the Mavs

Based on your videos you seem like a super chill place and right now you are in the best place in Dallas, there are gonna be pros and cons to everything you just have to figure out what you wanna deal with, I live in Houston but it’s nice a lot of clubs places but it’s crowded too crowded and don’t let me tell you about the heat. You should link up with peyton charles she can help you with a lot.

I reside in Dallas near Uptown/Downtown. Frisco does have the Star for entertainment providing several bars and restaurants. And it's not that far of a drive from Dallas. Houston is definitely super humid with the same heat as Daalas if not worse, and they are more subject to hurricanes, etc. Las Colinas, maybe an area to look into out here outside of Uptown, Plano, Dallas, Frisco, Mckinney, etc. Good luck searching

I've lived around the Frisco area for about 14 years now. Lived in the North Dallas (more Plano, Richardson) area for close to 25 years. The Frisco area is the new up and coming area and is just now starting to see some high rise developments thanks to the addition of The Star and now the new PGA headquarters, along with a Universal theme park coming soon. It's an area that is experiencing, not just growth, but an explosion of growth. Traffic is HORRIBLE around here in certain areas too. They didn't take into account the amount of people that would be moving up here after building new homes, apartments and amenities. I agree with someone else on here who said the Addison/Galleria area may be a good fit for you. Arlington may have some areas with some high rise type apartments around AT&T stadium and the new Rangers stadium. They're building that area up as well. The Mavs may be moving from American Airlines center soon now that Cuban sold a portion of the team. The goal for them is to open up a casino/sports arena for them in the future. But that could be well after you've decided to leave Dallas if you choose to come here. But there are parts of Dallas that are laid back. Going to be honest, it's not as laid back as I'd like (I'm an introvert as well). People here are kind of uptight. I'm leaving later this year and trying to find a place more my vibe. Best of luck to you. This may be a good area to live in for a couple of years or so. Who knows. You may decide to stay longer. Seems to happen to a lot of people that come here. Best of luck to you! 🙂

You’re guaranteed to get snow in Dallas for at least a week per year. It’s better than the guaranteed natural disaster per year in Houston. I’m from Texas , lived in both, and bout to make Dallas home again for sure. Houston is great to visit but it’s a scene regardless if you want to be on the scene or not.

Yeah, any of the concerns that you’re having about Dallas multiply that by five for Houston. It is hotter out here. The humidity is more intense out here right near the golf, which isn’t even a nice beach and that’s why hurricane and tropical storm season is worse out here. But yes, the intense heat is summertime. You didn’t come at the best time to visit lol. But that’s not all year. It does get cool, nice breeze, sometimes snowy and icy which is basically a natural disaster in dallas. They do not have great infrastructure for snow and ice.
