This is a GM LS7 swapped Porsche 997 but with a special twist - it has our 180-degree headers installed! No mufflers, straight piped, and ready to confuse all the purists. Can you tell the difference between this 7-liter beast and a Porsche cup car? We can't. Our headers are available now, see our website for more details and ordering. You won't find a better set of 180-degree headers for the money. Porsche 996 and 997 with LS swaps fit perfectly. Universal fitment on other projects such as sand cars, formula drift, Ultra4, desert trucks, and more!

they nailed the design on these. A lot of guys understand the concept of 180 headers, but the execution ends up not being done in a way that gets the flat plane sound.

I like flat plane but it sounds way too similar to I4

@@tonymontana3873 that is because (i think) the exhaust is just 2 tubes no x-pipe or h-pipe

@@yassinenattah You are correct. If they X pipe it or Y pipe it into a bigger single (dual 2.5 to single 3.5 or dual 3 to single 4) it'll sound more exotic and proper.

In the 1980's 180 degree headers were very popular in short track racing and the Trans Am series. With technology advances resulting in higher rpm motors, the previous gains from this complicated header style disappeared. Unfortunate since sound so awesome & exotic.

You somehow kept that very recognizable harshness that comes with Porsche Boxer 6s, ever since the air cooled motors, yet this is a 180* header V8, and at 7 liters no less. What a fantastic engine sound this has. It actually really reminds me of the Porsche 908 Le Mans racers from the 60s, the ones that had the Boxer-8 engines.

@@Nick22257 Unfortunately he sold the car and kept the 180 headers for his next build. He doesn't have a social media as far as I can tell.

The RUF GT8 engine is a 4.5 liter flat-plane crank, so not really.

@@tonyjackson4099 that is true but 180 degree headers helps the exhaust scavenging, which is inherent in a flatplane V8 and thus emulate the sound of one. Let’s call it a RUF on a budget

How in the hell they do that?! I had to listen to it 17 times. Well I didn’t _have_ to. The only time I can manage to hear anything close to a V8 is when it goes by. Pretty incredible the witchcraft these wizards use is diabolical 🤠🔥

@@hunteraltman4762 not unless you want to use a torch to cut up the frame and body. :) these are made for the Porsche 911 application. I have a 8-1 header that exits on top of the intake that’s in development. You’ll need 8.5” of clearance between your hood and the intake. Feel free to email me for more info if you’re interested. @@dukeengineeringsolutions6587 well I would be ok with cutting it up, but it depends how much we're talking about. Like a few places cut or is it not realistically possible. I'm hoping to get a tube frame built up as well so it might be possible.

That probably is a strange question, but would it be possible to make 180 degree headers to mount turbos on them? Turbo LS with that sound in 911 would be a dream come true!

Yes, average gains are +20hp and +30 ft/lbs on LS1 and a bit more on larger displacement LS3/LS7.

We have one in the works! Depends on what sound you’re looking for. Personally I like the X pipe sound a bit more on most 180 setups and I’ll post a video of the updated exhaust on my car once it’s done.

Yeah, all you have to do is put a turbo flange on it and locate the ends of the collectors wherever you need in order to fit the turbos. What would be far more interesting to me, however, is routing each collector to one scroll of a single, BIG, twin-scroll turbo.

@@Drunken_Hamster sound like an interesting idea! I guess the engine sound would be pretty similar as exhaust pulses are still 180 degrees away from each other anyway.
