Have the 642 in that same holster and I love it!! I also use one for my sp101 Ruger 2” snub.357 Magnum and fits well. If you want to help mold the pocket holster tight to the gun then hers a tip , unload the gun and put it snug deep in the holster and stuff it under you couch cushion and sit on it , after a period of time it will fit really snug and you will really like it! I’ve used the Remora sticky holster and after time of use I find the Remora holster comes out of pocket with the gun and now having this happen to me I appreciate the easier slip of the DeSantis pocket holster . These are like $25 holsters so cheap to replace when the are worn out and not fun as needed . Just my 2 cents worth . Good video! Pocket carry is as easy as it gets! ✌️🇺🇸😁

Oh and I have recently bought the Remora pocket holster for my Glock 29 10mm subcompact and it works well in a sturdy pair of pants or shorts with a good belt 🤩

I just purchased the Remora today.I also did an instore comparison of the desantis and remora, I wear blue jeans 504s I think the pockets are not as deep as the cargo type pants your wearing, and i noticed the desantis by its shape forces the butt to stick out off my pants! It takes up the whole pocket not alowing repositioning of the gun so you can't do away with the butt sticking out! It is slightly less thick I think though, but i decided I wanted the whole gun hidden don't need anyone calling the cops while i'm in the mall.LOL. The Remora REW-8CH was my pick well hidden good retention can actully be worn as an inside the pants holster because of its stickyness it won't move if trapped between cloth. Gun slides right out with and easy draw but becomes unnoticable in your pocket after awhile, and the entire gun mod 36 jframe is covered including the exposed hammer and trigger I will use this alot.jim

Not quite sure that I understood why you were concerned about holster "retention" with a pocket holster. Just the fact that the holster is IN YOUR POCKET should offer the retention you speak of. You said the pistol would fall out if turned upside down. I agree per the physics of that happening, but cannot agree upon circumstance. If it is in your pocket I do not see that happening. Maybe if you are doing handstands! lol With that said, I enjoyed your video.

Great review, I have a remora for my 2022 and love it, was thinking of one for my j frame(w/hammer). didn't know anything about the desantis, now i'll be looking for that one too, you mentioned a galco.....perhaps add the horsehide pocket to the mix here? Just got yourself another sub.

Yes, that Galco horsehide seems like an excellent choice...but it costs more than twice as much as these other options, so there's a trade-off there. The benefit is good rigidity/retention/concealment (hiding the gun outline), with the benefit of a thin material. Remora is a bit thick, and DeSantis has a bit of bulk in that one dimension, as well as less outstanding retention. No deal breakers, but the more expensive Galco may provide more benefits. We still need to test it out further before saying for sure, though.
