the main characters this time are Red (daughter of Wonderland's Queen of Hearts) and Chloe (daughter of Cinderella and sister of Chad) not sure what happened to the original VK, but Uma has now been made the principal of Auradon Academy and she decided to invite people from Wonderland to attend school despite Fairy Godmother advising her not to, and Fairy Godmother's warnings prove to be correct when the Queen of Hearts stages a coup and then arrests Cinderella to behead her in order to save their moms, Red and Chloe use a time machine, which is actually the pocket watch of the White Rabbit (who in some versions is a master of time but is always late for meetings despite being able to manipulate time) and they return to the past to meet teenage versions of their parents Red was shocked to learn her mother (who was going by the name Bridget in this version) was actually super nice, but turned all evil and psycho due to a "rivalry" with Ursula's little sister (who is not Morgana, but Uliana in this version) it turns out that when the original villains and heroes were teens, they all attended a school of magic ran by Merlin, but the heroes and villains were already dead set on their respective paths to be good or evil Red and Chloe try to change the events of the past, but doing so caused consequences in the future

They ended their story with the animated short film from 2021 Descendants the royal wedding (which also honours Cameron) which also teased this spinoff this is not a direct sequel to D3 the wedding film and the new Melissa de la Cruz book come in between.
