That's crazy to me. Morgy is such an irrevelant character. If they had a deleted scene with him having the book, I am glad they removed it cause it would have been such a disappoitment. Cinderella makes more sense to me. The villains could have asked them to open the cookbook for them, as they needed someone good to do it, maybe by tricking her : like saying it could help her go to the ball (in Cinderella's story, she is never allowed to go). Get your hands dirty kinda build for me that she could turn her back on Bridget if she thought she had to. If that was not their intent, I hope they will hear all these fans theory and make Cinderella the one who did the prank.

I love time travel and this movie did time travel SO WRONG. Like first of all you can’t change what’s already happened by going into the past, but also if time travel did work that way then they didn’t change enough of the present and nothing made sense.

The costuming and wigs in this movie was atrocious! The wigs are self explanatory, but the costumes... Damn, the person in charge DID NOT get the costuming of the universe. If you put those girls in D1, D2 or D3 they'll look suuuper out of place.

I've always figured it as: Ursula - the eldest, mother's favourite and the one with the most talent and the most ambition Morgana (not Morgie's mum) - the middle child, the disappointment, the one driven mostly by bitterness to prove herself better than her sister and to stick it to her mother Uliana - the baby of the family, spoiled because she's not a disappointment while not also not the favourite and possibly mostly as a result of her mother wanting her out of the way which she doesn't realise, has no real drive just goes on her belief of her own superiority which may be unfounded and may be more flash than bang.

I didn't even know Merlin was in this movie. And, he was The Principal of Merlin Academy (named after him). Merlin Academy is what Auradon Prep used to be and then they changed the name to Auradon Prep and they changed the school's infrastructure.

Did the extras really look like fantasy characters in the other movies outside of ball scenes?~ Like *really* think about it~ Even Ben wasn't often styled in fantasy clothing unless he was going to the Isle, a ball, or something else that was a special occasion. Mostly it was just the main characters or others from the Isle~~~ Characters like Doug, Dopey's son/Evie's boyfriend, were typically just dressed in regular clothing that had a similar color scheme to their notable parent^.^

I know you said you didn’t see the Cinderella movie with Brandy, but I really hope you do one day. It’s my favorite movie because as a kid it showed me that someone who looked like me could be a princess too. Also in that version, her Prince Charming is the same guy who plays her husband, Chloe’s father in this movie. I really love that they brought both Brandy and Paolo back to play future versions of their characters as if they have a daughter. Seeing them together again gave me so much nostalgia and joy.❤

I liked the songs Red and Love Ain’t It, the cgi was really good and the background music, Rita Ora was great as the Queen of Hearts, Ruby Rose great as Bridget, the plot was interesting enough to hold my attention for an hour and a half but nothing I’d rave about. I didn’t like most of the costumes they seemed cheap. The only good ones were Brandi, Rita and Bridget. I HATED how the Auradon kids like Ella and Chloe had colored hair since it always seemed like a VK thing. Most of the choreography was cringe as hell especially all the forehead touching. The What’s My Name music video had good choreo but whoever was the choreographer can’t pull off a scene in a musical. And the ending had wayyyy too many plotholes and was wayyy too rushed so unless they fix that in D5 it’s a strike against the movie for me. And I wasn’t a fan of Uliana, like, why didn’t they just call her Ursula?

My guess for the prank was that the villains asked Cinderella to cast it for them, cause she was good so she could have opened the book. In exchange they may have helped her to go to the ball or something like that (we know that Cinderella is supposed to be forbidden to go, but maybe in this version instead of the help of the Fairy Godmother, she find a magic trick in the book that helped her escaped the home). Cinderella could have done something like that if we based ourselves on Get Your Hands Dirty. But as Red and Chloe took the book, the villains never went to Cinderella to ask her for her help.

My I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that Red looks so much like Evie lol. First time I saw the actress, it was on High School Musical the Musical the Series, and I thought it was Evie until I checked it out, and still then I had trouble believing she was not. When I saw the poster for this movie, I thought Evie was returning and it confused me cause I thought the original actors didn't want to. I don't know what it is, maybe their eyes, but they look so much alike and it's confusing. Now that I know I can tell them apart, but still. They should do a movie together where they play sisters.

I had the exact same reaction you had by “the ending”. I didn’t get why Brodget accent isn’t there either. Glad to know I wasn’t the only one noticing it. I also thought Cinderella will be the one to do the prank to Bridget hence her being mean and traumatised over it all and considering being good as a weakness. Great minds think alike. “Life is sweeter” is by far the best song of the movie. But the movie is a huge MEH to be honest. Hopefully they’ll make it all better by the next movie. I knew it was a new trilogy but I didn’t think it would be like this. It’s not even a first movie for me. Completely anticlimactic as you say.

I don't know if this was a deleted scene or if it was a scene for the next movie, but I've heard there's a picture somewhere of Morgie - who of course was outside the school on watch - holding that cookbook. I guess he's all talk and no action so the book wouldn't have recognised him as a troublemaker so that's how the prank could have happened. But if we'd actually been told WHAT had happened we'd be less annoyed - and if we'd seen what had happened in the timeline Red and Chloe created. Apparently deleted scenes also included us meeting other characters in the 'Life is Sweeter' scene - including Tiana and possibly Rapunzel (we're not sure, we just heard a nickname)
