I think a lot of people don’t realize the plot twist. In BOTH timelines, Merlin’s ALWAYS had his spell book safeguarded, so Uliana and her friends will have always been made frozen, which stopped them from doing the prank. But because Chloe and Red were there to kind of take possession of the book, and it causing the future to be changed, we can infer that they UNKNOWINGLY stopped this mysterious person from taking the book in the short time between the future villains being frozen and Merlin arriving. We also learned that only someone “good” could actually open the book. We will probably find out who actually pranked Bridget in part 2.

@@LorielSaysHi In regards to the book freezing them, remember that Morgie, son of Morgana, was not frozen and has magic of his own. Between Uliana's tentacles, Maleficent's magic, and Hades's fire, I doubt the security owl would have gotten away, meaning Merlin wouldn't have gone to the office until the next morning, giving Morgie time to undo the freezing spell. Then Uliana would just have to find someone else to open the book for her and she'd be able to make her prank cupcake.

Strap in. We're going of the "they made ripples in space time by changing the past" thing right? Uliana and them would have probably figured out they cant open the book and need someone good to do it, and so they bully Ella into opening the book, they make the monster cake and so Ella sticks to Bridget at the dance but then she sees charming right? And bridget's like "go!" and while Ella is off with Charming, Bridget gets humiliated and then Ella arrives after the fact and Uliana reveals they could never have done it without her, and yeah thats just off the top of my head so not so much "Ella did it" but more so of she had a part in this very cruel prank on a very nice sweet girl who wasnt socialized until very recently, and she, even as a grown woman, is quick to say "oh it was just a prank" "let the past be", cause there's literally no other way that bridget would become what she did unless that happened. Like your only friend in high school after you've been homeschooled your whole life turn out to be the one directly responsible for the most humiliating moment of your life? But EVERYTHING Red did had ripples, so instead of Uliana (who we can assume is well versed in magic) figuring out about the spellbook's freezing hex, she just had to gloat over her victory (as villians do) which led to her downfall, and the current timeline.

The only reason the future changed was due to Chloe and Red taking possession of the book and basically unknowingly stopping a mystery person from taking the book. With an added 30 mins of dialogue, this could’ve easily became my favorite Descendants movie (the originals will always have a special place in my heart though). The 30 mins would give us time to actually see the ball, and everything play out. They probably don’t think it was needed. They never showed why Bridget thought Cinderella was fake. Did she not help her after being turn into a monster? Did she just say get over it? The ending just like it was rushed.

When I watched this, I totally expected that Cinderella was the one who did the prank against the queen of hearts. The tension between them. Cinderella’s constant justification of “it was just a stupid prank” and the line of the queen of hearts that they are all back stabbers. So I honestly was shocked when it wasn’t Cinderella. Also, I predict that in the next movie it will be revealed that Cinderella and Prince Charming aren’t married or they don’t love each other. It’s because Red and Chloe got Ella grounded in the past which in turn would cause her to miss the dance. The dance where Prince Charming and Cinderella first danced and fell in love. Idk. Ppl shouldn't defend the rushed ending/plot holes in the fact that a second part is coming, movies should be able to be stand-alones even if they are part of a series. Apparently, this is the first of a two-part movie. I was also puzzled why they built up this big prank that literally changed the Queen of Hearts entire personality and made this sugar-coated bubble of effervescent cotton candy into this angry and vengeful Queen. Apparently, when the girls played with the fabric of time, they made some rather unexpected changes and there will be consequences to that. I don't think her Mom is truly all good now. Her dress was only partially white and her hair was still red, when it was cotton candy pink in the past, before the prank. Maybe they will show us the prank in the second part of the movie and we can see what all the fuss is about.

Also, it's not really a plot hole because we don't know how Uliana's gang originally went about their plans. We've seen the altered version that came about because of Red and Chloe's interference. Stuff like this is why time travel sucks because it opens up a ton of variables, and since we as an audience didn't actually experience the "original" situations, every thing becomes speculation.

The importance of if someone did something to help someone else versus for ulterior matters really comes into play when you are trying to predict someone's future possible behavior, and if you should have them in your life, involve yourself with them, AND if you are talking about someone like a narcissist. One shouldn't involve themself on a personal level with someone who does something "nice" for themself only because this person may #1 be doing it to manipulate you whether or not the outcome is actually good or healthy for YOU, possibly causing you long-term damage. Furthermore, if you watch someone's behavior and determine that someone does in fact lie heavily on the narcissist spectrum it makes life way less troublesome and confusing. Their motives are generally NEVER in favor of other folks. It's all for themselves at the end of the day. So it makes it easier to unravel their schemes and to step away.

Hot take, but while watching this film I was very confused, firstly they mention Cinderella Berg at the beginning of this movie which to me I thought meant there were multiple Cinderella, and that the Rogers and Hammerstein Cinderella in Prince charming that we see in this film were not Chad's parents and that his parents were the original Cinderella and Prince charming from the original Disney movie with the blonde Cinderella we all know and that they were just multiple Cinderella living in Cinderella Berg, which I didn't have a problem with until Prince charming mentions that Chad is his son and then I had so many questions like is he adopted how does that work I'm so confused, also in the original trilogy it was made out like all the people who lived in Oregon dressed a little bit more normally with their normal coloured hair and looked like the children of the people from the fairytales that we knew from the Disney movies, but now in this Cinderella daughter Chloe, looks like a villain kid which greatly confuses me because the only person who had that change was Audrey and that's when she turned evil in the third film, it's just an interesting costume choice that is not bad on its own but it's just a little bit confusing and inconsistent with the original trilogy, having her mum and her have blue hair instead of just the normal brown or black hair that you would expectbased off of the original trilogy with people like Jane, Audrey and Mulan's daughter having normal Khalid here, like I thought it was only the people on the island who had the colourful clothing and outfits because they were villains and that's what made them stand apart and that was like the whole point, but I might be missing something, while an interesting plot, I felt like while some of the plots from the original films weren't great they had great music where is this while having a pretty captivating plot that was done surprisingly well, it didn't have a lot of great or memorable songs none of the songs were bad they were just not massively memorable or special in my opinion, not they were bad or anything I still enjoyed the movie and enjoyed the songs, I just felt like they were a lot of inconsistencies with the original trilogy and a lot of plot holes in terms of the story, like I literally felt like we were missing something, let me know if there are supposed to be books in between the third film and this one because that's what it felt like, if that like I was missing some chapters both at the beginning and at the end, because I was confused as to why we didn't see the ball prank, because that is strange to me, also one of the reasons why I thought we were going off of the original fairytales shown in the original Disney movies rather than different ones is also because in the original descendants film the very first one, it's kind of implied that the villains are all older than people like snow White or sleeping beauty or Cinderella and they're like the same age or in between the ages of the grandparents and the parents, and that they've been living on their island for years and also that the ones who had died originally in their fairytale were brought back from the dead and put on that island at least that's what I had heard from what people had told me in terms of the books that come before the movies or in between the movies, which apparently are supposed to be canon to the original trilogy so that's also what confused me about this new fourth film because it feels so disconnected from the original trilogy with its law, I mean the world building of all of the villains and princesses etc, all going to school together does kind of make sense I guess as to how they got together like how maleficent and Hades got together and things like that, but it also just creates a lot of plot holes for the original trilogy and also is basically like hard reboot a yes you could say they're trying to create a new Canon or something for the descendants franchise I don't really know, but that's also kind of what it felt like a little bit with this all going to school together explanation, so I'm just not entirely sure what's happening there, again none of this was bad or anything like I said I enjoyed the story and all that, I just had a couple of things that confused me and I wasn't really sure why certain decisions were made, again not that they were bad decisions they were just kind of inconsistent with what we knew from the original trilogy, which again wouldn't be bad if they were like multiple versions of different characters like multiple Cinderella and Prince charming who lived in their own little kingdom which was sort of implied in the original trilogy and again kind of in this film when they talk about being a Cinderella m's burg that Prince charming and Cinderella rollover, and I just kind of assumed that they'd be multiple versions of them like the Rogers and Hammerstein version that we seen in this film and then the original version that we see from the classic Cinderella and then you know things like that maybe like two versions, I don't know it's not really a big deal or it's just some of the casting decisions and costume decisions and overall story decisions didn't quite make sense to me in terms of the overall story, like they make sense in terms of this film and this films plot, just not in the overall law and pre-established universe of the original trilogy if that makes sense, but again these are all just my opinions and I don't know if there is a book that actually ties everything together and explains it better, but I feel like with the original trilogy you didn't have to read any of the books to understand it and if you do for this film that's kind of disappointing because it just leaves you with lots of questions I think, because there's a lot of like plot points that don't make sense in terms of the original trilogy like I said where there's just a lot of canon law has been altered and changed to the point where I'm just left feeling a little bit confused, so massively enjoying this film and thinking it was a good add-on story wise, there were just a lot of plot points that were left out that made me think oh I don't understand and I missing a chapter and I missing a book like did something happen in between the third and fourth movie that I don't know about because I feel like I was missing the beginning and ending of this movie I don't know if anyone else feels that, especially with the beginning but again that's just my opinion. I like that this feels like a brand-new start to a brand-new story, I just would've liked if it had tied to the original trilogy a little bit better and a little bit more cohesively without feeling disconnected to the point where you feel like there should be a book that comes in between orSomething else that came before because that was just the vibe I got personally, it had a good ending but I just felt like there was stuff left from the ending as well that felt rushed like the fact that we didn't see the dance didn't see the prank, that also just left me feeling a little underwhelmed or a little bit confused so I just felt like they were things that should've been longer and I'm not sure why it was so short, again not a bad film and a great addition, just slightly confusing law ways and story wise. Maybe with more films we can fix some of the plot holes and better expand the lower of this world, because if they have rewritten the law, that's not necessarily a bad thing it's just confusing and makes it disjointed from the original trilogy in my opinion.

Also I'm not entirely sure what happened with the descendants and ever after situation years ago, but out of the whole descendants franchise this film to me feels so much like an episode of ever ever after high it's not even funny, like in the ever after high universe the queen of hearts Daughter was named Lizzie and her name is red but I don't know some stuff to do with the story and the way this universe was explored in terms of how people dress etc it felt more like an episode of ever after high than a descendants film and I don't know if that was intentional or not because the other films never really gave me that vibe I was able to separate them and I don't actually know what happened in terms of like All that etc, but this film to me for whatever reason kind of feel like never after high episode I don't know if anyone else felt like that or got that vibe or if it was just me but I found that as well.

I think the whole reason there were plot holes and the ending felt rushed is because they are setting it up for a sequel so I think they did it on purpose to make us get curious and excited for the next movie

They were culturally diverse before Hollywood even knew what that word meant. They made that popular and NO ONE will ever do what they did successfully. Like Amazon Cinderella is literally a Whitney Houston Cinderella knockoff.
