Thank you so much for this absolutely fantastic video series. Your channel is probably the most informative and at the same time the most aesthetically pleasing when it comes to diving. Far better than the dated video material from the major diving agencies.

@flowstatedivers I dived in Tenerife last year with a great dive shop called Blackstone. Curious to know about your operation though. Do you run a dive shop and/or instructing business? Edit: Nevermind, just Googled you. May get in contact in the future.

Great video as usual. My buddies have this annoying tendency to just drop like a rock. Such an easy way to split the team right when you may need them the most. I'd love if you guys did a video on handling cannister lights btw! Probably what I struggle the most when it comes to long hose configuration with the cannister positions and cord.

I recently started working on horizontal descents and am finding the upward water flow against the top of my fins is turning me head down as I descend. I notice diver in video is using a lot of fin action but not sure what the technique is.
@flowstatedivers5 ай бұрын
It takes some practice, but you will get there! The reason the diver is adjusting in the video is due to the surge. Since we were shooting a video, we had to stay in position relative to each other (even more than otherwise).

Hello my friend, i changed from jacket BCD to wing backplate, i have problem with decent , when I deflated the wing I rotate all over , the weight distributed all in tanks long with pockets and weight cam , what is your advice
@flowstatediversАй бұрын
@alzahraniabdulrahman fix your body / lower back tension. Check out our video "How to achieve perfect body alignment." Everything that's demonstrated there is applying to being on the surface as well.

I saw that the diver in the video constantly has their fins tipped upward (bit like my profile picture); when descending like this I sometimes find water pushing my fins upwards even with moderate descent speed and that sometimes hinder me from doing effective frog kicks. Do you have any tips on this?
@flowstatedivers2 ай бұрын
@zhengmaoli1835 Best you can do is practice your frog kick. This alone should not hinder your ability to effectively use any type of propulsion technique let alone the frog kick which is by far the most stabilising one. Check our videos on propulsion and practice with purpose ✨️

Won't I need to be a little over weighted to start my dive? Here in the pnw we typically dive hp100 tanks and with that tank full it's -9lbs and at 500psi about -0.5lbs. So if I started the dive perfectly neutral how would I hold my stops on ascent?
@flowstatedivers4 ай бұрын
@mikesonntag7698 please check out our video on correct weighting. All this is discussed there in details.

@@flowstatedivers I have watched all your videos. I really like them as I dive DIR. The beginning of this video you said I should be able to stay on the surface with no air in my dry suit or wing and start the descent with just my breath (exhale). I find that hard to do with the 8lbs of air I'm going to breath in the dive. That's all I was wondering is how you did that? Thx
@miks85 ай бұрын
7:55 - shouldn't your first prio be to completely free the long hose? Also, a question - your opinion on using drysuit v wing for your BC?
@flowstatedivers5 ай бұрын
Nope. The priority during an OOG situation is to reestablish breathing, and once that's done, you deploy the long hose. Our next video will cover gas sharing in a lot more detail, so stay tuned for that. Regarding your second question, it's a controversial topic. While technically you could use your drysuit the same as your BC, it would make diving extremely tedious due to the amount of gas trapped in the suit, so we don't recommend it. You should never add more gas to your drysuit than what is necessary to eliminate the squeeze at depth.

Hi! very informative video, thanks! small question, but where do you tuck that long hose? your setup is so streamline I try to replicate it haha. have a good day :)
@flowstatedivers5 ай бұрын
Simply tuck it under your waist strap. If you have your kit set up correctly, it will hold perfectly fine.
