I remember seeing this, it was in a partially interactive demo-CD that showcased a lot of stuff, from Age of Rifles, to Descent 2, Red Alert and Hi-Octane! Wonderful memories right there. Thanks for the upload.

@Elbin Cenisev That’s true, and I own all 3 in original and GOG format, I really meant “remaster “, and hell maybe console release.

A lot of the devs made a game a few years ago called overload. Not a re-release or equal for legal reasons, but it's a great reboot of the game's style and gameplay

The video quality is unusually good for a trailer this old. Looks great. I'm trying to get a decent copy of the original trailer for the Bladerunner game because the first time I saw it I was unbelievably excited. Unfortunately it's about the size of a postage stamp and quality is absolute dog ****.

Can you share how did you make the upscale? [It's awesome!]

I use FFMPEG. Here the original video was encoded in 320x200, so here's what I did: -sws_flags neighbor+full_chroma_inp -s 1920x1440 -aspect 4:3 -r 70 -vcodec libx264 -pix_fmt yuv420p

Ufff good gaming memories ! I finished all 3 Descent games and I remember they were very radical on those days, not every FPS player could play them. I felt them as real challenges. If there are any other Descent lovers reading this not sure if you are already aware but I strongly recommend to check OVERLOAD :) I tried many similar games but that one nails the Descent gameplay by far. Also it does support native Virtual Reality meaning that you will be seated inside the ship and being able to look around with your head freely. Here is some gameplay against one of the bosses in the game, and you will see the free-look during gameplay as it helps a lot to do a lot of maneuvers and dodges: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y2q4Y3iiq8SppJI

Man what a game, i do however find it odd that it was released amidst some of the widely known free space games (wing commander types). Sort of feels like a step back to use actual walls to restrict movement of player, sure lends itself to mazes well that way, but i still found it bit off-putting than. No disrespect to game or its devs, they basically released full 3d engine game at time so close to quake that they had to develop the idea in parallel - no small feat trying to match ID's technological revolution. Than again i do not remember one or more of the descent games tried open space and not quite getting it right, maybe descent cubed? or 4th? Eh i am horrible at these games regardless i only gotten into space games with Freelancer (i do not have willpower and skills to tackle space sim type games, never did) and that one was saved from jaws of failure thanks to microsoft ... somehow not being villain of a game story for once. Still descent did great things and impressively that i respect. Also vaguely recall that studio coming up with Red Faction, good ideas overflowing.
