I used to watch these videos to learn ASL but I quit, that was years ago, now there is a new deaf person at my school and her interpreter encouraged me to learn ASL. Guess where I came to learn ASL? Here again! Now I’m back to learning ASL and these videos are the best thing to do it.

This is perfect for me. I have a friend who’s deaf and I wanted to learn ASL to communicate with her.

I’m so happy you are starting to teach more advanced stuff now!! I am in an ASL 3 class now and learning this same stuff and it helps a lot!

So you are in asl 3 & you feel you still need an instructor to use voice? Am i missing something?

I like this video but I believe I also remember my professor saying that if they have a very distinctive feature you can sign that earlier or first. But I could be misremembering.

Yippee! Thank you! So excited to start an OFFICIAL full year with you since I started awhile back last year. Then somehow got kicked off your site and others I'd subscribed to when it updated not once but twice. From what I heard I wasn't the only one but Apple iPhone users got hit more, I've got ab Android. Thankfully my 1 Dr still has some links of yours id sent her and she reset my phone. We actually have the same model and good thing because I don't do setups. I have my friends kids for that or my nephews 😂 #NYGenXBIKERLady

Recently learned about classifiers, good to have a video to put them into practical use. How to describe a specific feature like a large nose? Thought you would include the lady's nose ring. How to describe?

Can you do some videos or maybe even a playlist with no voice? It seems that the vast majority of the time you are speaking unnecessarily.

Just watched this ASL video on KZbin for the first time in 2024. I think I might have to watch it again when it comes to describing a person in ASL, even if it's just myself & any specific features, for example, besides having freckles or moles, but a birthmark on my right leg , which BTW is my mark or signature, seal of approval from God and NOT of a make-up artist and didn't happen by accident or a unfortunate casualty or fatality 🦵 🤔 🙂🙏💒👍🤟.

You would want to say fat, not "overweight". That's not a good descriptor for anyone because you're implying a bias.

No voice allowed!!! Yours isn't total immersion

Then go watch Bill Vicars, weirdo. Some deaf people speak. Some signers speak. If you're going to learn, at least learn about all the different ways people might sign instead of making a ridiculous assumption like this.
