@@sissyrrr98 Don't get any information from reddit. The karma system and mod abuse leads to an internet right-think, and overall the site is just a bad place to get political information. When you say he wants to "fix democracy" that is just one of his vague platitude talking points to distract you from the issues. How is he going to fix democracy? Yang, Gabbard, Sanders all want to do it by getting rid of money in politics. The idea that we shouldn't attack the Democratic candidates because "trolls" is, quite frankly, as disgustingly counter-productive as it gets. That's just a talking point handed down by the corporate owned news to trick people like you and me into not revealing the truth about the establishment's preferred candidates. Like how Buttigieg used to work for McKinsey consulting, or how he sat in on a meeting with Pelosi, Tanden, and Democratic donors where the topic was specifically how to peel away votes from Bernie Sanders. The political views changes within the times. In the 1920's it was considered progressive to prohibit alcohol. however, it is now it's considered progressive to de-criminalize marijuana. Obama might be considered a moderate today, but in 2008, someone running for president who wants to regulate the economy on a large scale and raise taxes on the rich was considered much farther than the left than comparable left-wing candidates such as Hilalry Clinton and John Edwards.Keep in mind also the presidents of the era were Reagan, the bushes and Clinton. Their whole thing was against big government Obama also had to mainly work with a republican congress (and didn't do too well). Obama started off his campaign as a new washington outsider who wanted to make change, but ended with a highly divided country wanting to create unity (kinda) Samething happened with Reagan (with more success). She has called Assad a "brutal dictator" which tells you that she's obviously not a fan of him. Tulsi just wants the US military to stay out of the Syrian conflict. That's not shilling, it's a genuine position derived from her principles of non-interventionism. (She supports diplomatic solutions for all other military conflicts the US is involved in). Second, she doesn't deny "all of Assad's attrocities", she acknowledged that he's done bad things to his people in the past. What I think you're referring to by "all attrocities" is the 2017 chemical attacks which Assad was accused of. Tulsi and some of the international community remain skeptical towards the claim that is was Assad who ordered the gas attacks. Most notably, there was no investigation conducted in the immediate aftermath of the attacks (meaning the us ordered those airstrikes on pure impulse), and there was recently an investigation that came out which says that we don't know for certain if Assad was behind the attacks, reaffirming Gabbard's belief. sidenote; I don't plan to vote for Gabbard in the 2020 primaries, I just think it's important that people don't misunderstand her.

Very true. Not to mention that most of that 12% were Republicans to begin with - they'd crossed party lines _to support Bernie,_ not to spite the Dems.
@user-en7dx1qp3k2 жыл бұрын
The validity of the 24% claim is already pretty shaky, it's based on some random survey by YouGov on what Clinton voters said that they were going to vote for, which obviously could have changed by the time election night came around. The exit polls show 16%, which is still greater than 12%, but it isn't a quarter. I would also argue that McCain was a much more reasonable candidate to vote for than Trump was, and, crucially, Clinton-McCain voters didn't cost the democrats the election, but Sanders-Trump voters very much did. However, this is all hindsight, and the margins in 2016 were so small for enough states that a group as small as even the green party could have changed the result.

Republican can also be an adjective of the word Republic, so if I said “he is a republican” that statement could actually mean a lot of different things, technically I am a republican, but I’m far left and hate the GOP. If I said “he believes in republican principles” that statement too could mean a lot of different things, you couldn’t say “he believes in democrat principles” you would say “he believes in democratic principles” or “he believes in the principles of the Democratic Party” would probably be better to use if someone is a democrat because the first sentence could mean a lot of different things, technically I believe in democratic principles too, but I’m not really a Democrat even though I am forced to vote for them.

@@TJ-oo5mx Well, there may be some truth to that, since it's paid for with tax money, and taxes are arguably a form of theft... however, you can also look at it this way: I'm a poor person that pays Federal Income Tax. The rich-ass companies that we are going to require to pay The Value Added Tax have not been paying Federal Income Tax. Plus, they sell information about us and don't send us a cut. If you mail-order something from them that never arrives, you probably won't get your money back. Amazon recently told me that the device from which I stream their videos to my TV was going to be disqualified and that I needed to buy a new device from them to stream episodes that I've already paid for. Google demonetized my KZbin channel on the same day that they demonetized a whole shit load of other small KZbinrs just because we were smaller channels, and then withheld our earnings for themselves. That's millions of dollars that was earned by small KZbinrs that a major, rich-ass corporation just kept for themselves! And that just covers the companies that are going to have to pay The Value Added Tax. There's also going to be a Carbon Tax on high-carbon-emission polluters who are contributing to global warming, the melting of the polar ice caps, the shrinking of our land (which contributes to over population), and it's even making some of our food less nutritious, and I think I'm actually forgetting some of the other effects, but suffice it to say; that $1000 bucks per month belongs to us. It's what we are owed! If it's stealing then it's stealing back what was already stolen from us.

@@flaviusbelisarius7517 I guess you are right, it's just looking at the programs of them both Gravel's one looks more ambitious which I liked.
@flaviusbelisarius75175 жыл бұрын
@@eruno_ well a wall is ambitious but it's whether they know how to use the system to get what they want that counts. Being senator for Hawaii and in politics since her 20s you can expect she'll be as competent as Clinton or bush were. She also has the veteran card to play to the republicans (expect her to emphasise Trump draft dodging) overall she's probably a decent mass appeal candidate I didn't realise Gravel was 89, surely it's going to matter more who is vice president if he were to win.

NOPE. She refused to be skeptical about Barr's Mueller Report Summary. She was like "OK lets all move on now, clearly Trump didn't do anything, and clearly Barr is telling the truth". When anyone paying attention for 10 minutes the last 18 months knows damn well better!

Jeffro 2000 stupid people hate him because they don’t know what communism is (and will refuse to learn because knowledge bad) and they’ve never actually paid attention to his policies or life. He was a carpenter, maybe not the best carpenter but I assure you your not the best at your job either.
