Literally no one: I wish they said "Clarks" real big on them. Clarks: Let's stamp "Clarks" real big on them.

Bought the ,2.0s and took them straight to the cobblers and had more eyeletsput in. They no longer flop around at all. cost 10 Euros.

I have two pairs just like your Originals. One pair with the stiff leather and the other with a softer leather. I bought them on sale at a Clarks store. And that is how I buy Clarks DBs. I buy two pairs when they're on sale. Two pairs last longer than one. I love mine. After years of wear, they fit like leather socks with a sole.

The Clarks Mid Overdale is a traditional chukka boot with a more aggressive and durable sole. Has more lace holes to really tighten up but if you want a more casual boot, you can’t go wrong with the Desert Boot.

I’ll have to take a look at those, thank you!

Thanks for the in-depth comparison. I recently got the Clark's Bushacre 3's. Seems like a lot of the same changes as the Desert Boot 2.0. The removable insole is really cushy and there is a little more rubber in the arch in front of the heal for better support. These don't have the inner lining though. I really like them so far.

@@tommilano5431 The B3 and DB2 are very similar. Besides the lining in the DB2, the ortholite insole in the DB2 is of better quality than the ortholites in the B3.

I dig it. Thanks for this video. I've had 2 pairs for these going on for use since 2008, but man, I would love to be able to swap insoles now.

Please check out the Sorel Madson chukka. It has a lugged outsole, and is waterproof.

Thanks for the informative video. What colour is the desert boot 2 in your video? Beeswax or brown?

You’re welcome. Both of these boots are in beeswax.

Regarding the Dessert Boot 2.0, did the Ortholite insoles ever flatten out and lose its comfort?
@tommilano5431 Жыл бұрын
I didn’t have the 2.0 boots for long. They just didn’t fit me right.

I think they're ok if your just mooching about as the soles are comfy but there's no shape to them and the heel isn't heel shaped as there's no curve to it. The other disadvantage is as you pointed out a third eyelet would help. I upgraded to a loake Boughton with leather soles, more breathable and resolable.

How does the sizing compare?
@ryeofoatmeal3 жыл бұрын
great reviews for both versions! but it could have been better if you wore desert booth v2 a bit longer like 1-2 months and compare how does it feel when you first wear (a week to 2 weeks) until now (after 1 to 2 months) regardless, I'm amazing reviews and still debating whether to buy or not
@ax_el_alvarez2 жыл бұрын
I have. Sole is hard and wears out pretty quick, not squishy nor soft as the originals. Insoles are pretty uncomfortable for your mid-foot, because the sole is so hard, they become easily uncomfortable. Other than that, they’re ok.
@88HaZZarD883 жыл бұрын
Thanks As a whole i prefer the 2.0 But I dislike the laces colour on the new beeswax model, I would prefer them lighter in colour, like on the classic CDB.

I appreciate your in-depth review. Your comparisons on both shoes help enormous for some who owns a CDB while thinking about whether to get a CDB 2, like me. Quick question: other than the removable sole, do you think the version 2.0 comes with shank?
@tommilano54313 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I don’t think it comes with a shank. It’s pretty flexible, although much stiffer than the original.

These newer boots are killing my feet because of the welt where the tongue joins the remainder of the front piece of the shoe. Clarks are really skimping in doing this rather than making the front part of the shoe from one piece as is usual. This is a bloody disgrace in my opinion and something I've never seen before. If they're going to charge that much for something so shoddy and trade on their name they're really going down the Veblen road.

Never wear these with shorts you charlatan. Nothing looks worse. Let me put this in perspective, Crocs look a million times better with shorts than desert boots. Desert boots shine paired with jeans or khakis...but NEVER shorts. Otherwise great review 👍🏽.
