In all seriousness. Thank you for providing an environment for people to safely use and learn about firearms. Not a shooter but I respect the hell out of you folks.

Thank you again for a great entertainment. As a Disabled Vet, I can not do this type of match, but truly enjoy watching. I participate in Class F precision, and find it rewarding, so there is something out there for everyone,if they want to get involved.

This year's Deseret Brutality was fabulous you guys. The matches just keep getting better, and I'm excited to see what next year's match will bring to the firing line. Also on the topic of shilling for sponsors. I trust the sponsorships you guys accept way more than the ones most people accept. In this day and age a lot of people throw their standards/honesty out the window when offered a check, but you guys consistently show that isn't necessary. Keep up the great work everyone.

You guys should use the technique that the Army taught me in 1967 about how to craw with your weapon. With your strong hand, hold the sling at the point where it attaches near the muzzle. The rifle will then lay across your strong hand forearm and that will keep it out of the mud.

Got to say (again) that Russel's rifle just looks more balanced than the BRN-605, just because the extra inch or so in front of the FSB. Purely visual thing - or is it? Most likely will also function more reliably with lighter loads because of the slightly increased dwell time? (and the brown furniture also somehow looks better compared to all black)

My question is did the Williams sisters par out on any the stages? Because if petite 14 and 16 year olds can do it, none of us should be complaining about it being too physical (don't get me wrong, they would both kick my but).

We should bring out a stair stepping machine and have people waiting in line or "on deck" that have to be on it for a minimum of 3 minutes with all the kit or 65 LBS 1 step per second like the Firefighting grinders that I design or the CPAT before the stage even starts .....

Going to be honest, the reason I like Ian and Karl's runs are because they use old or wacky stuff, Sinistral's [And everybody else that uses it] gamer gear is forgettable and boring, classic is what shines, it also in my personal opinion takes more skill to do well in Classic then it does in gamer gun devisions. I mean, lets get real, a properly tuned AR15 in the 3 Gun type setup has the recoil impluse of an airsoft gun and with modern optics it's place dot on target get hit, I'm not saying putting an RMR on a SAA will let you do well [i'd like to see this though] but it really reduces the skill that either old optics or ironsights requires. I'm glad all three are willing to run in Classic, because if this became another "AR15 and Glock" centric channel, i'd be very disinterested in further content.
@SinistralRifleman
@SinistralRifleman 5 жыл бұрын
Your definition of gamer gear is a bit dated. An 11.5" SBR with a Red Dot is currently tactical state of the art. Red Dot equipped pistols (even with comps) are as well. If my gear was "gamer" it wouldn't run reliably in these conditions. Marksmanship skill is marksmanship skill. I picked up 2 iron sight guns and won classic division without ever practicing with them before the event. The lack of practice was deliberate to crash test dummy the stages. What Iron sights do is make me slow down more to get harder crisp sight pictures and fight against my own near-sightedness that gets worse the older I get. In 10-20 years skill with iron sights will be as relevant as riding a horse or using a telegraph with morse code; useful in highly specific circumstances but over all not very. You're also over simplifying the skill required. Yes it is easier for most people to place a dot on a rifle target and make a hit. It is not easier to win; if anything the skill threshold to win is higher because with everyone using modern advanced equipment the opposition isn't missing as much and isn't making as many mistakes. Using a red dot equipped pistol will is harder for most people that don't have the skill to back it up. People using modern equipment timed out on many of these stages.

@@SinistralRifleman "Bleeding edge" My 2011 has had a comp and a red dot on it for almost 10 years now, the RMR and Roland special just made it smaller. And that's also a testament to the AR15 that you picked it up and did it so well, as we've proven time and time again, said design is the Apex of small arms, if you tried to pick up a G3/AKM/FAL/Whatever cold war piece of junk other then something AR15 based, you simply would have fallen behind because they are inherently less perfected designs. If this was 1975, your Colt carbine would be the "gamer gun" of it's day. You are right, as I said, more marksmanship skill to deal with a rifle that is fighting you, IE Ironsights, modern optics and rifles just fight you less, allowing you to do more with that same level of skill as before. a NM 1903 from 60 years ago will shoot the same group a current Accurcy international wizbang mega shooter will do, it's just the ease of doing such a thing has gone way up as tech has gotten better. I meant no Disrespect to you, I just find the challenges old rifles present to be more interesting, I fear as these practical 2 gun shooting things get more popular, the 3 gun "true" gamer gun type will show up, the auto ejecting no recoil 2 oz trigger AR15s that effectively fire in controlled full auto because they are tuned so well sorts.

Redneck Fury we’ve been doing this since 2006. The true gamer crowd doesn’t last. Physical challenges turn most of them off. They also don’t like linear stages where there isn’t choice or stage planning. And getting down in the dirt tends to make true race guns not run.
