The yellow plants have the vulgar name of brittle Bush. The real name is encellia feranosa, it's in the sunflower family and the flowers are made up of dozens of tiny flowers. If you reach Into the plant and seperate the branches you may find some resin deposits on the stems that have a wonderful smell.

Great ride, Russ, this kind of exploration I could do all day long. Those black rocks remind me of that old sci-fi movie, "The Monolith Monsters". Like the way you felt it necessary to pull off the goat path when flying the drone the first time--just in case a goat came along and needed to get past.
