The Colorado is all-new for 2024, and this 2024 Colorado ZR2 Bison has all the bells and whistles needed to cross nearly any terrain. It has new suspension geometry, a longer wheelbase, and more torque. Not as much as the 2024 Silverado HD 2500 ZR2 Bison, of course. The 6.6-liter Duramax diesel makes 470hp and 975lb-ft, enough to tug-of-war against a whole herd of buffalo.

I'm sure this may not get the views because people don't typically come here for truck content but this was a great review. I'm (apparently) one of the few who love the TST content but who's life requires a truck - and the Colorado ZR2 is at the top of my list.

I reflected on what you said about electric steering a bit and don’t totally agree. I think when you’re rock crawling especially it is really nice to have more feedback through the wheel of what the front tires are doing. I feel like off roading with bad EPAS would be like trying to summit Half Dome in Hokas. Sure maybe there’s a driver fatigue advantage for miles on trails at speed, but I do miss the feedback.

these trucks are good for 2 deserts, Arizona and so cal. if you don't do them, no point in these trucks, it's a niche of off roading which is a niche

i agree. they are just too wide for any kind of trail not in the desert. none of it matters tho most people are buying them to be seen in. and frankly after doing some off-roading in a couple friends new trucks it almost just doesn’t seem worth it. shits going to get damaged and they care about resale bc they spent $70-80k on them. kinda sucks the fun out of it

Is chevys auto lights smart enough to turn on instantly when it starts raining? Or do I need to take my eyes off the wet road to go in the screen and turn my lights on? My auto headlights also can’t read the sign that says “lights on for safety” as I drive through the woods in the day. It’s insane that they left the entire headlight stalk and removed one functionality.

I have a 2nd Gen Colorado Z71 and the headlights are pretty much always on no matter what. Personally, I don’t touch the headlight knob at all so I don’t mind if it’s buried behind a menu.

We get rain and snow fairly often where I live and my car is not smart enough to know to turn on the lights. But if all the lights are on all the time then yea, makes sense to not have a switch.
