The stick is actually an ordinary skewer that you can buy from the supermarket in a packet. Fabrianne breaks off an end and rubs it flat on a hard surface till it is almost smooth. Other than that it comes down to how much pressure she applies with the first few dabs that are then incrementally pressed harder until the paint is no longer transferring from stick to linen. Good luck with your attempts - practice and time makes perfect and Fabrianne takes up to 3 weeks on some of her larger pieces!
