@DaveSmith-cp5kj6 жыл бұрын
The problem with psychology is that it is not a real science. Yes experiments are done, but the conclusions made from experiments tend to be entirely opinionated since we do not completely understand how the brain works and so we have to resort to a black box analysis approach. Given what we can do though, I think the Stanford Prison Experiment highlights at the minimum a possible behavioral effect, still making it still a valuable study. That is all psychology really is good for, analyzing the possibilities of behavioral outcomes. Of course we always have to be critical of psychology and science itself. The day we simply believe what people claim because it is a "study" is the day we drift away from real knowledge seeking and into sophistry. The APA for example has admitted repeatedly that they do censor certain research papers that do not fit their agenda and many of their more popular articles tend to be bankrupt in any psychological expertise (for example the papers claiming Donald Trump had mental disorders, when every psychologist knows that you can only determine that on a one on one basis, and based on repeated visits and studies of their mood over a long period of time from months to years)
@DaveSmith-cp5kj5 жыл бұрын
@butt scratcher Science is defined by the practice of observation and discovery established through experimentation. The field of psychology attempts to imitate this but they do not truly follow it. The brain is a black box to us and we do not even understand the entire physiology behind it. Consequentially almost all studies developed by psychologists are "educated" guesses which often stray into wild assumptions. Psychologists rely heavily on surveys and interpretations of events, not relying all that much on the facts of an experimental design itself, since if you take it at the core, most psychological experiments do not tell us anything at all since there are too many confounding factors. Sigmund Freud (or Fraud depending on who you talk to) is a well known example. While psychologists have attempted to move past his time, it truly is barely perceptible progress. Most true science in the field of psychology stems from overall conclusions of current medicine just copied into a different field of study. Many laymen just assume that if someone is a "scientist" they have an air of authority. There is no licencing to be a scientist, that is the essence of science. Anyone can practice it, but no one regardless of their background can become truly recognized in scientific endeavors without working through the scientific method, which involves a peer review that serves as the check to keep lies and coincidences out of our base of knowledge (a check which never truly ends)
@DaveSmith-cp5kj5 жыл бұрын
@butt scratcher Not sure why you are laughing, unless you seriously did not know this. Pick up any freshman year pre-med oriented textbook and the first few chapters will talk about the scientific method in detail. If you aren't using the scientific method, you aren't practicing science.

@easetheweeb6 жыл бұрын
Double jeopardy is being accused of the SAME CRIME, not two instances of the same TYPE of crime. You can't be tried twice for one murder once you have been acquitted but you CAN be tried again for committing another murder.

@HiddenRealm4 жыл бұрын
@@kalewilson7756 You cannot be punished for a crime twice. He was executed on the spot as a punishment. New evidence arising doesn't affect this law as he was already found guilty of the crime as he was punished... more evidence doesn't make you suddenly more guilty. They would need to uncover something that implicates a separate crime occurred that is different to the one he was punished for. That being said if you are acquitted of a crime, there are certain locations that changed how the double jeopardy law applies, and you can be put back on trial. This change was largely made to account for DNA evidence, or other very very incriminating evidence that comes to their attention after the original trial.

idk how practical this is but one thing that i think would really add a lot of value to sniper vids like this would be some graphic on screen that tells how far away the enemy player is. I figure if you could somehow integrate a rangefinder into the camera that would probably work well. It would add to how cool it is when you make a really long shot and also help to lower new players' expectations with regard to what they expect an airsoft gun, especially a sniper rifle, to do so that I don't get a billion kids coming into the store asking for the stock jg bar10 and thinking they'll be shooting sub moa groups at 500 yards with it.

If some cop is being a shitbag he’d retaliate. Maybe try and put out a hot or ambush him. That would be more fun than thinking he’s taking it too seriously don’t you think? Plus that would add to the overall experience. With insurgency you really gotta let yourself be in the world that’s set up.
