Deserts of Kharak - Soban Gunship Rush

A guide to executing a Gunship Rush for the Soban faction. This build is a tech rush, and is used to cause severe early game damage to your opponent, allowing you to take a big lead into the mid game.

Old video but worth commenting that you can see when an opponent has researched certain techs by a change or addition to the carrier itself. When Soban and Coalition research aircraft, blank blast doors open on top of the carrier revealing the marked aircraft elevators, and the soban carrier opens it's side panel for strike fighter retrieval. The Gaalsien Carrier raises a flight control tower behind the bomber landing bay when researching aircraft, but I can't notice any change on the Kanneph carrier. This applies to researching Heavy Vehicles (rails, AAV's assault ships) and Cruisers as well for the carriers, they unfurl a bay that can indicate that the player has researched the tech.

Man, I'd love nothing more than an empire-building style game set on Kharak. I'm not a big fan of the space-based Homeworld series, but Kharak was awesome.

So true deserts of kharak looks very neat and smart. Its a pleasure to play. Graphics dont make a game we all know that but deserts of kharak has solid essential elements like detailed tactics and options and the pace of play is just right but the graphics are a real bonus. The last game i played was a free mod based an old cnc game and the graphics are from 1996 so they are terrible but its still a brilliant game/mod because graphics dont make a game but deserts of kharak covers the essential elements and gives us amazing visuals. The armed logistics modules are good the soban are alright but i like the gaalsians most. The units look caf like those honor guard cruisers. Good vid.

Wife and I enjoy your videos. We did quite a few for PA, so we know how much work goes into them! Just recently started playing DOK. Fun stuff. PS It would be real cool if you would showcase some of the different maps... talk about typical strats, entry points, defense points, and a fly by -like the Masters does of the golf course! Haha That, we would watch!

Yeah the maps are so beautiful and terrain plays such a major role in the game that would really help knock off the learning curve.

Hello dreamlands! I enjoy your DOK content and I baught the game because it. I'm actually enjoying the gameplay a lot but I'm having some crashes issues, sometimes when I load a save or sometimes even when I start the game. My rig can run games like bf1 on ultra with 60+ fps so I'm sure it's not a performence issue! Is this a common thing?

Hi there, thanks for watching, and Im glad you like the content. The issues you describe are not common, but I have heard of them. Try verifying cashe files on steam and it should fix the issue. Its definitely not a performance issue, likely just one of the game files got bugged or something. If that does not work post your issue on the BBI forums, steam forums, or jump on the Homeworld discord server, and someone will help you out. Hello Dreamlands. Being a fast paced rts fan (starcraft 1-2, dawn of war 1) is it overall a fast game or a slow one like Homeworld remastered? Average game length is 10-30 or 40+? Or an hybrid that should generally be fast but could last for hours (Age of Empire serie) ? Thanks man, appreciated.

Xecutionner2K Its faster than Homeworld Remastered, but not as fast as SC2. Average match is 15 - 20 mins

15-20min are still perfectly acceptable for "my" standard of fun. The game is one year old only, so I guess you would still recommend this game to me (next week during steam summer sale for example)? I purchased a lot of rts due to my new rig (Ashes Escalation for 3€ is actually incredible given how good the game is, and reconquest might be the most underrated rts ever). Xecutionner2K Definitely recommend, its a fantastic RTS. The player base is smaller than SC or DoW, so I would recommend joining the community Discord if you are interested in the competitive scene. I will post the link for you when I get on my PC.

Well, being mostly a solo (vs AI/ Campaign) player (still managed to hit diamond in sc2) I personally prefer atmospheric, story deep rts to competitive one (unless it's like starcraft 1, best story in any rts and crazy good mp... hello hundreds of hour spent). Another game I'm considering is Halo Wars 2 pc: i heard the solo & mp are quite good although the game shows too much of a console hybrid, what's your opinion about it?
